PHASE ZERO – MULTIDIRECTIONAL BOX
PRACTICE INFO:
• Size of area is the coaches choice – if you can, use a yellow area or Penalty Area.
• Players perform instructed movements in any direction they like
• PROGRESSION 1 – Find a space between two players and sprint through it
• PROGRESSION 2 – Play “Tag” Games – Tails, Tag, Football in Hand
• PROGRESSION 3 – Introduce footballs for ball control, passing or possession exercises.

PHASE ZERO – “CHANGE PLACES”
PRACTICE INFO:
• 5x5m area, 5 cones – 1x cone at each corner, 1x cone in the middle of area
• Blue players attempt to switch positions with each other
• The red defender has to reach a cone before a blue
• If the red gets there first, the losing blue becomes the defender
• All close calls are given in favour of the red defender
• PROGRESSION 1 – Perform in silence
• PROGRESSION 2 – Blue players perform with a football each
COACHING DETAIL:

• 2v2 inside area with a target player at each end (stood diagonally from each other)
• Halfway should be put in to the practice
• Players must play through both halves before it can be passed to a target
• The passer switches play with the target player
• PROGRESSION – Do a specific skill over the halfway line
• PROGRESSION – The target player can only enter with one touch

• If the ball goes out, Throw Ins should be used as a restart.

PRACTICE INFO:
• Full width practice, 5m middle zone
• Two teams versus one format
• In possession team must reach the middle zone through passing or dribbling
• When they reach the middle zone they must pass to the opposite GK (with quality)
• When possession is lost, the team who lost possession become the pressers
COACHING DETAIL:

PRACTICE INFO:
• Divide the pitch into 3
• Players have to dribble over their own defensive line when ever they travel over it, then
normal play resumes.
• Offside applies at halfway or in attacking 3 rd (coaches choice)
COACHING DETAIL:
