This is the adaptation of systems, processes, etc. to be operated by computers and the internet.
b. Write a report on the adoption and development of digital technology in the oil and gas industry
and discuss how digitization is changing work and how it will affect your future as a Petroleum
Engineer.
Digital technology has made a big impact on the oil and gas industry. From the use of modern
machines instead of man power, the exploitation of petroleum has been made easier, safer and more
convenient. Also the introduction of programs used to create and design machines used for the
extraction have also been adopted in the oil and gas industry.
Digitization in terms of work will make my work easier, improve my performance. I see a good future
being a Petroleum Engineer. In the presence of digitization, the work load to complete becomes easier
and more simpler, making life easier working as a Petroleum Engineer.
