Artificial Intelligence and Robotics BY: NR “Can machines think?” Will AI be the future? What makes a machine intelligent? Will AI replace humans? What is AI? Artificial intelligence: ● Is a branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines that perform at a level that requires human intelligence. ● Essentially the advancements in machine learning. ● Smart algorithms that make decisions based on the data given to it. ● Teaching machines to “think” and “act” like humans. “AI is algorithms enabled by constraints, exposed by representations that support models targeted at loops that tie thinking, perception and action together” -Patrick Winston What is Machine Learning ? ● Category within AI that focuses on machines ability to “learn.” ● Algorithms are used to discover patterns and generate action from the data they are programmed with. ● They need to be programmed specifically for every single possible action. ● Eliminates the need of hand-coding software. ● Instead of recognition of patterns, machines “learn” from experience. What is Deep Learning ? ● Deep learning is a category within machine learning, the most advanced AI field ● Closest to the goal of enabling machines to learn and think as much like humans as possible. ● Mimics human brains neural networks to understand patterns. ● Big data, High computing power Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Deep Learning ● Branch of technology that deals with physical robots (machines) ● Programmable machines that carry out a series of actions Robotics ● For most robots, only a small part require AI ● Interact via Sensors The Difference Most people get confused between AI and Robots, or simple tend to think one is a subset of the other when in fact they are two different fields that serve different purposes. Artificial Intelligence Robotics Robotics involves building robots physical Artificially Intelligent Robots AI involves programming intelligence Artificially Intelligent Robots ● Robots controlled by AI programs. ● Robots that perform more complex task than non-intelligent robots ● The most updated AI Robots store informations of experiences and attempts the actions in similar future situations. Examples of AI Applications ● Chatbots ● Facial recognition ● Image tagging ● Natural language processing ● Sales prediction ● Self-driving cars ● Sentiment analysis REFERENCES ● https://blog.robotiq.com/whats-the-difference-betweenrobotics-and-artificial-intelligence ● https://www.springboard.com/blog/artificial-intelligencequestions/ ● Google- for pics
