dedicated alternative energy industry based on serving these customers
Alternate energy sources are becoming increasingly popular as advances in technology and
falling prices make them more accessible and appealing. In rural or isolated areas, such as in
British Columbia, the use of alternative energy sources can be particularly beneficial, helping to
reduce reliance on traditional sources of energy and allowing communities to become more selfsufficient and environmentally conscious.
The purpose of this project is to represent an alternative energy business in the local community
and to encourage homeowners to invest in the technology. To do this, research will be conducted
on the various technologies available, including solar hot water and solar electric units, wind
turbines, geothermal and biofuel production and usage. Interviews will be conducted with
owners of local businesses, who can provide their expertise to better understand the technology
and how it works. The product will then be presented in a formal written report, video ad, inperson presentation, or flyer.
The purpose of the presentation is to explain the technology, how it works, why people should
use it, and what other types of technology it replaces. To ensure the presentation is successful,
the following criteria must be met:
1. The purpose of the business and the reason for installation must be clearly explained.
2. The products must be clearly shown and described.
3. How the products work must be outlined.
4. A general idea of cost must be given, with an indication of cost recovery time.
5. Good production and/or design must be shown.
