1 Summary of Learning from Week 10 Rohan Chanana (2128184) University Canada West MBAF 504 Section 13 Farnoosh Farzaneh 11th December 2022 2 Summary of learnings from Business Economics, MBAF 504 As an engineer who has worked in business strategy, the course in Business Economics came new to me. The course covered what I have done in the past, but on a textbook level. The topics covered in this course taught me about all the moving parts that are involved in making decisions, which are managerial decisions on a firm level, or even on a much larger scale. The concepts of microeconomics and macroeconomics have more than equipped me to be able to understand situations completely. 504 also taught me the importance of supply and demand, the productivity of labor, and many more fundamental topics for me to be able to build a solid foundation and eventually lay the bricks of my Master’s degree on top. Outside of just knowledge, I also gained the opportunity to work in teams, where I understood the benefits and the shortcomings of teamwork, which, as a future business owner is something very relevant to me. This class also allowed me to deliver presentations, which greatly improved my confidence and the feedback from the facilitator gave me a lot of vision to improve and build my skills. The class activities greatly emphasized on completion of tasks with a fixed timeline, which allowed me to understand the sensitivity and delicacy of time management and commitment. An honorable mention for my gains from this class would be the sheer experience of being guided by my facilitator, who not only patiently addressed all my queries but also was a pleasant reminder that there need not be a negative association with the word “professor”. Therefore, there were a lot of things to take away from this class, both inside and outside of the textbook. 3 References Krugman, P., Wells, R. & Graddy, K.
