PERFORMANCE TASK 1
Electron Microscope is one of the commonly used tools in studying viruse although there are
other techniques which are also used to visualize viruses. The use of microscope in this time of
pandemic plays a vital role. Through this, researchers and other health authorities are able to study
the virus that can’t be seen by our naked eyes. The process of microscopy helps in determining the
complexity of the virus, determines it’s different variant in order for our health authorities to find ways
in develoving antibodies as vaccines in order to minimize or hopefully fight back the fatal effect of
the virus.

PERFORMANCE TASK 2
Flowering plants like Gumamela, reproduce by the process called pollination.
In this process, Pollen is carried by insects such as bee, butterflies and others or blown by the wind
from one flower to another and then fertilization will take place. It is when pollen reaches the new
flower and travels to the ovary where it fertilizes egg cells (ovules) to make seeds. With the help of
insects, other animals even human or the presence of the wind, seed dispersal will happen, it is when
the seeds are scattered, and most if not all of the seeds will grow into new plants. That is how sexual
reproduction of plants takes place.
