Sub: Liberalization of siding rules.
Ref: Board’s letter No. 99/TC(FM)/26/1 dated 29.09.2000.
Please refer to para 3.2.1 of Board’s letter No. 99/TC(FM)/26/1 dated
29.09.2000 regarding capital cost of a crossing station necessitated by a siding. It is
hereby clarified that for all the private sidings whether commissioned before or after
29.09.2000 the provisions regarding staff cost envisaged in para 3.2.1 of Board’s letter
No. 99/TC(FM)/26/1 dated 29.09.2000 shall be applicable which is reiterated as below:
“If the capacity utilization of the section is 80% and above, the staff may be
posted at the crossing station at Railway’s cost, otherwise it should be at
party’s cost.”
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
