1. Who are you in the video? The star thrower or the observer? Why?
The star thrower is the person who throws the stars. The observer is someone who observes the
stars being thrown.
The star thrower is a young man who is throwing starfish at the sea, but the people on the shore
don't know what he's doing or why he's doing it. They're just there to watch him do it, and they
have no idea that it has any meaning or importance.
For me, I will be considering myself as the star thrower. Just like the star thrower, I value the
importance of small things. Even though, we might feel unique sometimes because we were only
alone in doing a certain thing, it is okay, as long as you know in yourself that you are making a
difference and not just going with the flow. The star thrower is trying to make a difference in the
world, but he doesn't know how. He's trying to give people hope, but no one seems to notice what
he does or why it's important. He just wants everyone else to understand that even though things
look bleak and there are problems everywhere you look, there's still something good about
humanity that we can all share at any moment if we choose to do so. The star thrower isn't a
superhero and he doesn't have any special powers. He just has the ability to see things differently
than most people do. He knows how to look at a problem from all sides and find a solution that
works for everyone—even if it means having to learn new skills or invent something that is new or
unusual to everyone.
2. What particular part of the video struck you and why?
A particular part of the video that struck me the most is when after the observer says that the star
thrower won’t make a difference, the star thrower picked up a starfish and throw it again in the
ocean. And that’s it, the difference has been made. The observer didn’t notice as of the moment
that what the star thrower did made him realize things and learned a lesson. It seems so simple,
but when you’ll think about it, it is just so fascinating.
3. What are the lessons you learn after viewing the short video?
The lessons I learned from watching the video, "The Star Thrower," were that it is important to be
open to change and to be willing to take risks in order to make things better.
The star thrower is a character who is both wise and foolish, who is able to see things from different
perspectives and take action on those perspectives. He demonstrates this by throwing the starfish
into the water, which represents the idea of taking risks in order to make something better. This is
an important lesson for me because it shows me that even if I have done everything right up until
now, there may be some new ideas or ways of doing things that could improve my situation or help
someone else's situation even more than my actions could have done alone. If we started to act, I
believe someone will notice, and like the observer, they will be curious and someday be a star
thrower as well. The three phrases that the narrator said on the last part of the video also lingered
in my mind. “Vision without action is merely a dream.” “Action without vision just passes time.”
“Vision with action can change the world.” We should not be afraid to find our own starfish and
throw it wisely and well to make a better future for us and for everyone.
