Finish mind map including quick initial sketches. (AO1/3) 2. Complete an inspiration page using images (printed and/or drawn) annotated with keywords, artist names, quotes etc. Fill full page. (AO1/3) 3. 1 tonal observation drawing (min. size = a5/half page) (AO2/3) 4. 2nd drawing in a different material (min size = a5/half page) (AO2/3) Artist Research x2 artist research pages including: 5. An accurate copy of an artwork (or section) (AO1/2) 6. A brief contextual write up (background info – who/what/when/where etc. – max. 5 facts) (AO1) 7. 1 in depth artwork analysis for each artist (discuss 1 artwork in particular – use form, context, content, process, mood sheet to help you) (AO1) 8. (AO2/3) 10. Initial photoshoot of 10+ images linking to exam theme. (AO2/3) 11. Edit 3 best photos on computer/phone/by hand (e.g. cut and collage, work into etc.) (AO2) 12. Annotate all work – explain areas of success and areas to develop further. Make clear link to the theme. (AO3) Initial Ideas 13. Areas of interest mind map: Produce a list of subjects and artists that appeal in a mind map. (AO2/3) 14. Sketch 3+ initial ideas. Make notes about colour, mood, scale, artist influences, texture, surface, shape, 2D/3D, relief etc. (AO2/3) HALF TERM (22nd – 25th February) 15. Ensure all previous sketchbook work is completed. 16. Decide on your chosen idea for your final piece. 17. Complete photoshoot to develop your final idea. Extension = Visit a gallery/exhibition related to the theme and an artist/photographer of interest. Produce a research page based on this visit. Include photographs, sketches and postcards from the gallery. Talk about your experience. Artist Research • 3rd artist research page: (AO1) 4x viewfinder sections of artwork including facts/analysis, combine artist ideas with Weeks 2-3 previous artist to create a response. Initial Ideas • Complete 3 media tests for each initial idea (AO2) Take a range of photos (10-50) that link to each initial idea. Experiment with Week 6 surfaces/colour as well as materials. Making • Produce a context page on an event/trip linked to your final idea. Connections Include 4+ drawings/paintings/studies as well as notes and research e.g. news (AO1) articles, documentary screen shots, leaflets etc. Week 7 Development • Make a large scale (A3+) observational study based on your final idea Chapter • Combine 3 different materials across a single drawing (AO2) • Create a painting in 30 minutes or less Week 8 - 10 • Use a completely new material that you have not used in your project yet • Work a surface that is not paper or card e.g. litter/found materials.
