CAR PART III &+$37(5 AERODROMES APPLICABILITY This Chapter applies to the use of aerodromes by all aircraft with the exception of microlight and ultralight aircraft. USE OF AERODROMES .. General An aircraft shall not land at, or takeoff from any place unless: (a) the place is designated as an International or National airport; or (b) the place is authorized by the GCAA; and (c) the place is suitable for use as an aerodrome for the purpose of landing and taking off of aircraft in safety, having regard to all circumstances, including the prevailing weather conditions. Note: 1RWH Any authorisation under sub-paragraph (b) above will be issued to the owner of the aerodrome. An operator of a aircraft requires a specific authority to utilise those aerodromes authorised under sub-paragraph (b) above. Night Operations No pilot of an aircraft shall takeoff from, or land on, an aerodrome at night unless: (a) that pilot has determined the wind direction from an illuminated wind direction indicator or local ground communications or, in the case of takeoff, that pilot’s personal observations; and (b) the limit of the area to be used for landing or takeoff is clearly shown; for aeroplanes, by runway maker lights; for helicopters, by boundary or runway marker lights or reflective material. PROTECTION OF RIGHTS Nothing in these Regulations shall be construed as conferring on any aircraft, as against the owner of any land or any person interested therein, the right to alight on that land, or as prejudicing the rights or remedies of any person in respect of any injury to persons or property caused by the aircraft. - -XO\ CAR PART III This Page Intentionally Left Blank -XO\ -
