REQUIRED TEXTBOOK AND SUPPLIES
1. Kieso, Weygandt, and Warfield. Intermediate Accounting, 17e (with Wiley Plus Access Code),
Wiley.
2. A simple calculator is required for in-class practice and for use in exams.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: An in-depth study of the intermediate accounting principles and practices
used in financial recording and reporting. Following extensive review of the fundamental processes,
content emphasis is on the financial statements and current assets.
PREREQUISITE: MAT 100 or MAT 100P or appropriate placement test score; ACC 201; a minimum
GPA of 2.3
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to 1) demonstrate
knowledge regarding the accounting cycle, 2) prepare financial statements, and 3) account for current
assets including cash, accounts receivables and inventory in accordance with GAAP
COURSE WORK AND EXAMS
1. Class participation: Attendance is mandatory and recorded.
2. Homework: In order to master this material, it is essential to practice. No matter how clear the
text and the classroom discussions, you will find it difficult to answer exam questions if you have
not practiced many different problems in each chapter. Homework will be announced and graded
via Wily Plus system. Late submissions will be graded but the grades will be discounted by 50%.
3. Exams: you will be given two in-class exams. You must complete the exam independently
without consulting any other individual. If illness forces you to miss one of the exams, please
seek my approval of absence prior to the exam date. If an emergency occurs, please inform me at
the earliest possibility. In either case, proper documentations must be presented for deration.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY
All acts of academic dishonesty including cheating and plagiarism will be viewed as violations of
appropriate student conduct and they will be dealt with following the WCSU policy

BLACKBOARD
Blackboard use required. Class notes, homework solutions, practice exams and solutions, and other
essential course documents are provided exclusively through Blackboard. In addition, any course
changes will be communicated through the Blackboard or your university email account. It is your
responsibility to check your university emails and the Blackboard regularly.
