Nowadays, Majority of people wants to do
the business, wants to run a startup, wants
to become an entrepreneur or a founder. It
appears to be very exciting and attractive
from far end that we will have a beautiful
office, sell great products, get popular and
will live a luxurious life, all these things are
true but many dark truths are hidden behind
the scenes that many of us are not aware.
Let’s see at some of hidden dark truths of
entrepreneurship: 1. You become an ideal or a star or a
celebrity for your team. Since so many
people are looking towards you as ideal
you have to conscious regarding your
every single action, your every single
word and manner. You are accountable
for every action. Your team will work
on the standards set by you.
2. Costumer or market only care about
products, it doesn’t care about your
past achievements and victories.
3. You will have to raise fund and you
will take money from investors but
remember the fact that investors and
only interested in returns.
4. We all lack at something, no one is
fully sorted. Everyone is going through
a difficult time but when you are an
entrepreneur or a founder you will
think only you are accountable for
every fall. You will be clouded selfdoubt and tend to take fall or loss at
personal level. You will blame yourself
for everything but the fact is everyone
is having some sort of difficulties.
5. Entrepreneurs or founders are known or
are popular for taking unpopular but
right decisions. Your decisions should
be unique and out of the box but
remember the fact you will be held
responsible for all the loss or gain by
that decision. People will appreciate
you but will also criticize you for the
decision if it didn’t work.
6. Your emotional and mental state will
reflect on your co-workers. People
around you who are working with you
will directly be affected by your mental
state and emotional state.
7. This journey is far more difficult than
we all expect it to be. We all just look
at the beautiful side of the start –up or
business but gradually reality comes
into the picture, all the tough things,
all the tough decisions to make become
clearer.
8. Your team is the most important aspect
of your success. Hiring a great mixture
of right attitude and experienced
persons. Sometimes you need a person
with more experience to do the work
for you while sometimes you need a
person with attitude to learn more,
excited to do the work and great
enthusiasm.
9. Your success is determined by your
progress. There isn’t any particular
benchmark or finishing moment to
celebrate like a winning moment.
There isn’t any winning moment you
will have to keep grinding. The small
progress day by day do not give the
glory of victory sort of thing.

Every business goes through ups
and downs but handling the down
moments are very much challenging
and are hard to handle. During hard
times you might have to fire some of
your employees and the worst part that
you are aware of is that those
employees are being fired not because
of their own mistake but because of
the market, and your decisions not
falling into the place. You feel the guilt
of laying off your own employees
because of business failure.

All the problems that your
employees are facing in the business is
your own problem. Starting from
electricity issue to finance all problems
are on your own head.

People will only praise you for
your success. People will be labeling
your startup as success or failure and to
keep yourself separated from it is on
the toughest job.
It takes a lot of focus, determination and
courage to stay on the track. Whole world
will be against you and will make you feel
doubtful regarding decisions but you have to
the greatest supporter of yourself.
