BSED-English 2 How does culture influence or impact language development/acquisition? Situate your essay in your personal experience, generally in the context of your own culture. - Culture influences the language spoken within social boundaries, such as how certain words are used to support culture. Through language, members of a particular culture communicate with each other and build bonds. Language is a way for others to identify a particular culture, whether it is based on a geographic local culture or an idealistic social culture. Culture develops its own language and exhibits nuances with the form of group body language and voice intonation. Cultures help my language development a lot. Inarticulate word is what I describe myself when I was little, since I grew up in the care of my grandparents who are so strict when it comes to speaking, facing people/accommodating. If there are visitors they would let me stay in my room because they said that it is improper for a child to socialize with the adult people. When I was in the right age to attend school it was the time that I slowly learned the language that I’ve never heard before. At first I was really nervous socializing with my classmates and teachers, to the point that the word most behave during the closing ceremony was the award that I’ve received from grade 1 to grade 4. When I was in the fifth grade it was the time that I find socializing fun. From then on I kept on talking/ socializing to my classmates or schoolmates. It is hoe my first language getting better. In the middle of second grading there is someone who enrolled, that came from Manila and approach me using tagalog words and I’m really trying hard to understand it. Then as the days goes by we become close friends she taught me tagalog words and I taught him bisaya word. This is how my second language acquisition( tagalog) developed. For me culture helps a lot cultured influence language development although this was mainly because beliefs and the language were different.
