The Donald and Itasker Thornton Memorial Scholarship (LOCAL)
The Thornton Sisters Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized for the purpose of annually providing oneyear educational scholarship(s) to deserving young females of color. The Foundation will be sending this information to

FAFS offers privately funded academic scholarships & opportunity grants for foster youth, youth who were in foster

NOTE TO SENIORS!
The FHS Counseling Department is aware that scholarship deadlines are looming and you may have
applications to submit while school is closed. To that end, you should submit your applications via mail
on your own and e-mail your School Counselor when you have completed your application requesting that
they send your letters of recommendation/transcript to scholarship committee. For nearly all of the
scholarships, we have access to e-mail contacts to which we can email this requested information. Please
ensure that you send your applications on time, and that you request the supplemental documents be sent
by your counselor in a timely fashion (typically 10 days before the deadline).
If a scholarship application indicates that the application should be sent to Mrs. Schumacher, please
submit it via email at jschumacher@franklinboe.org and copy your School Counselor.
