When the Sahara had a bunch of vegeta on and was a strong places for agriculture to be held.

In ancient Egypt the Nile was the primary sources of water which subsequently lead to the growth of
crops and agriculture. If you look on the map Egypt is a desert but the Nile provides green when also
brought plant life. Because it oods it leaves plant life a “gi ”, so the Nile was a “Gi ” to Egypt because
of what it provided.

The Bantu Migra on was the migra on of the African people throughout the sub-Saharan regions of
Africa I believe during 1800 BCE. They brought agriculture, trade, and culture.

Its when the Egyp an and other regions held large amount to food and had used it for many di erent
things like trade or just because they didn't know what’s to come the would store it. It was also a way to
be able to pay tax.

3) Ancient Egypt and the Inland Delta Niger. How did these two civiliza ons develop substan ally
di erent social structures (presence or absence of hierarchy)? Respond in the form of a short essay
(200 words) (5pts)
Both Ancient Egypt and Inland Delta Niger both had social structures, but it was fairly di erent.
In Ancient Egypt the social structure included kings and pharaoh some of the pharaohs even included
women rules. The Pharaoh is considered Divine King and the priest being considered ruler. The servants
to the Pharaoh would collect taxes from the people under them this could be crops or animals.
Everything the peasants had did not belong to them in fact it was taken from them. Large amount of the
peasants were used to buy a agricultural tools and systems. Now the Inland Delta Niger was di erent
they had a strong trade base with ironworking and other things. It was constantly being taken over by
di erent empires for example the Mali empire.
4) Detail the Out of Africa Model and its implica ons for our understanding of “race” in the
contemporary world. Respond in the form of a short essay (200 words) (5pts).
The Out of Africa models that everything originated from within Africa I believe modern day Sudan and
migrated out to di erent regions. Because of this we started to see di erent people establish di erent
methods from agriculture to language and way of life across African and further on into di erent area pf
the world. When it comes to “race” because people started to move into di erent area of space their
genes mutated and skin started to change with dark pigmenta on from protec on from sun and lighter
pigmenta on for the cold and are over me people gene’s changed. This in term lead to “race” which
groups the physical quali es of people by how they are viewed in society even though we all originate
from the same place.
