For our community project, I decided to go to an alcoholics anonymous meeting. I feel like I
learned quite a few things with talking to the people that were at the meeting. The preconceptions that
I had about these meetings were quite far off. I honestly thought that it would just be both men and
women in the class, going around in a big circle and everyone had to talk. I thought it would be more of
one person going around and telling everyone that it was time to share something that they wanted to
talk about.
My experience was nothing like this at all. The group welcomed us with open arms when we
walked in the door. They were excited to have us there.
