Objective:
How to work on PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel in window 8/10 Introduction:
Windows 8 is a personal computer operating system that help us to work, use and install different
apps and software.
Window 10 is latest version of computer operating system.
DOS stands for disk operating system. It is character user interface in which there is no graphical
use of hardware like mouse.
DOS is the part of a computer operating system that controls and manages files and programs
stored on disk

1. Device Manager

First we go “The PC”.
Right click and choose “Properties” option.
Then choose very first option “Device Manager”.

Device Manager is a component of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It allows users to
view and control the hardware attached to the computer.
2. Dxdiag Command

First we go to the window tab.
Type run and enter.
Then type the dxdiag and enter.

This tool helps you troubleshoot DirectX* related issues. Use the tool to generate a dxdiag text
report file, which has detailed information about your computer's graphics, sound, and other
devices.
3. Folder Properties

Choose properties option.
You will see a Display that show the location of your target app.

4. Recycle Bin

Open File Explorer and click or tap on an empty area in your address bar to edit it.
Type "recycle bin" in the address bar
Then hit Enter on your keyboard or click or tap on the Recycle Bin result displayed underneath to
access the folder.

If we untick the confirmation dialogue and then computer system will never ask to delete the folder
and vice versa.

Permanent Delete
If we want to delete the permanent folder, then we tap the shift+ delete.
6. MS Word
Microsoft Word or MS Word (often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that
users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft. Its purpose is to allow users
to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make
documents.

We can change the font style, normally we use Times New Roman
We can change the font size, normally we use 12 for sentence and 14 for heading.
Distribute the text evenly by choose the justify option.
7. MS PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint presents you with a presentation and slides app that you can carry with you
wherever you go.
8. MS Excel
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program.
It's used to create grids of text, numbers and formulas
specifying calculations.
That's extremely valuable for many businesses, which use it
to record expenditures and income, plan budgets, chart data
and succinctly present fiscal results.
Discussion
In excel we apply the sum operation to sum the number.

9. Disk Operating System
•
A DOS, or disk operating system, is an operating system that runs from a disk drive.
•
Computer memory space was limited, and when the instructions to control a computer were
moved onto a disk drive, such as a floppy disk or internal HDD, it was considered
cuttingedge technology.

Conclusion
In this assignment I learn how to work with window 8, 10 and dos .I use different software MS
word, Power point and excel and work in this software. A command prompt is the input field in a
text-based user interface screen for an operating system or program. Device Manager is a
component of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It allows users to view and control the
hardware attached to the computer.
