Filipino core values
A good citizen may be identified by their actions in various aspects of their nation. We
can easily identify it since we have values. Values that help us understand what is good and
bad. The major purpose of this article is to outline proper citizenship concepts. It refers to the
capacity to sustain the values of "pagkamaka-diyos," "pagkamaka-bayan," "pagkamaka-tao,"
and "pagkamaka-kalikasan." These are the essential concepts of citizenship. They are
particularly concerned with religion, the nation, fellow citizens, and the environment. We do not
inherit these values; rather, we learn them via the influence of others around us. The capacity to
carry out our civic obligations will raise our respect.
If we can perform our responsibilities as citizens, we will be recognized as good citizens.
Similar to any other comparable component, such as culture, norms, or other social factors,
Values, too, have a foundation. Understanding it may be difficult since we are dealing with
human emotion and decision-making, both of which are intricate in and of themselves. To
summarize, the distinctive moral basis that determines our individual judgment comprises
care/harm, fairness/cheating, loyalty/betrayal, authority/subversion, and purity/degradation.
PagkaMakaDiyos - This concept is usually associated with our belief in God, but it also
relates to respect for human life, law, and order. It is a characteristic that displays a person's
devotion to their Lord. It displays a commitment to one's religion and a desire to serve the Lord.
Having this value marks the beginning of a humble and caring existence.
PagkaMakabayan - It is the concept that expresses our affection for our own country
and all of its people. We don't need to put our lives in jeopardy like our heroes to represent this
principle; all it takes is for us to help one of our fellow citizens. However, because
pagkamaka-bayan is supposed to protect the country when terrible things happen, we should do
the same.
PagkaMakatao - This trait exhibits compassion and empathy towards others. Kindness
and respect are the best ways to characterize this characteristic. Respect and compassion
contribute to a more positive attitude in our country or community, which reduces disputes.
Personally, I feel that these ideals should be followed by everyone, especially now that the
pandemic is drowning us in negativity.
PagkaMakakalikasan - This trait shows the love and care of someone for the
environment. Those who are makakalikasan preserve and take good care of the surroundings
and they often help in maintaining the cleanliness of nature and they also take care of our
Mother Earth. Values don't only make our community better, it also makes our own life better.
We should practice all these values for the betterment of everyone. Our actions will affect the
actions of the next generation, so let us be a good example for them to follow. This
characteristic reflects a person's care for the environment. Makakalikasan people safeguard and
care for their surroundings, and they routinely contribute to keeping the environment clean and
caring for Mother Earth. Values enhance not only our community but also our overall quality of
life. We should put these principles into action for the welfare of everyone. Let us provide a good
example for future generations to follow, because our actions will affect theirs.
