Guns and Roses
In the world we live in today, danger lives anywhere that has something of value. We
tend to think of it like a life or death situation such as a robbery, an alleyway full of malicious
gang members, or even a house invasion. Typically for help, we have to wait for the authorities
to come and handle the problem, but by that time the criminal has already caused mass
destruction and has ruptured the calm atmosphere. People run scared for their lives trying to get
away from the fugitive but sometimes they aren't fast enough. What is the point of having
weapons such as guns, knives, or other armaments that inflict fear if all people are going to do is
use them against us? However there is a solution to stop all of this chaos in this world. In today’s
society standards, people have succumbed to acts of violence to achieve their desires and it's
crucial that they are stopped peacefully. People view guns as a fast method of killing and also see
roses as a sign of life. From this, the artifact I would preserve is a gun with roses at the end of the
barrel demonstrating that society doesn't always have to end with violence.
This object is the cure to saving the entire world. This could potentially end murder
crimes and even create a peaceful place in life. For future survivors, society would be bright and
happy. People would not have to worry about guns anymore because it would be illegal to carry
them around. Without this rose gun, terrible events could happen. For example, everyone can
carry a gun around. Think about it like this. There is an active shooter in the mall and everybody
2
has a gun. The shooter fires the gun and kills an innocent causing everyone to run away in panic.
Some people will hide in shops and others will flee to the exit. While everyone is running, the
shooter is shot by the hero shooter making them the new shooter. This new shooter will then
plead that they were only trying to protect themselves and the only way was to stop the original
shooter from causing more damage. Thus the process will repeat. People will hear the shooting
and try to address the problem by shooting even more causing havoc and chaos. According to
“Guns: dangerous, especially for suicide, and costly for america,” the author states that
“survivors of a shooting endure psychological trauma and grief.” People suffer greatly from
these shootings and my goal here is to prevent all of this from ever happening. In the future, this
won't be a problem because society will learn from this historic object. This object will bring
hope and peace among the nation
People don't realize they’ve lost something until it actually hits them. Life should never
be taken for granted. Some people may live more comfortably than others in their living
conditions, but that doesn't mean that they have to continue to live the way they do. People have
the ability to change things about themselves. They are capable of changing their whole future by
just doing something a little bit differently. There is no need to get all rattled up from a certain
problem in life to which a person takes another person's life out with them. This kind of action is
not what the world needs. In our society there are a multitude of things that can distract a person
from causing any harm. This might include some application of a psychologist, a mental
institution, or to the highest degree drugs (such as weed) that suppress this homicidal feeling.
Getting a closer look at the color of the rose, future survivors will see the roses as bright vibrant
red. These red roses typically symbolize deep love, romantic feelings, and desires which is what
3
I want the future generation to feel as well. This sense of strong desire is what really keeps
people going during tough times. As the bud slowly develops into the flower, it portrays that no
matter what, the gun will always be inferior to incoming life. Eventually the vines from the rose
will grow and cover up the trigger to the point where the gun is rendered unusable leaving
behind peace .
As the future generation ages, the object will continue to be accurate throughout the years
to come. The gun would have to be transferred to an airless container so it doesn't lose its
quality. Later down the line, it would soon be transferred to a history museum to where people
can appreciate its significance. As people walk past it, the description would give a brief
explanation of how this symbol of hope helped stop gun violence and brought unity all around
the world. In addition to commemorating the piece, the author of “Why we need museums now
more than ever”states that having the artifacts in the museums “can also bring people together in
a more literal way, through public events, workshops and lectures.”To this degree, people can
maybe interact with others and create fan groups that continues to spread awareness of the
artifact. News broadcasters will televise the new location and will encourage people to come and
check it out during their lifetime. Anywhere this symbol of peace goes, people are deemed to be
safe. According to “The Things We Carry”, Dale M. Kushner states “the symbols …have the
potential… to heal us .”Although the artifact does not necessarily express magical powers, it
hides a deeper meaning within itself that many people still might not fully understand. As folks
reminisce about the past, that ”they will only realize that society has gone so far in such a small
amount of time and will come to the realization that the world isn't that small after all.
4
In conclusion, I believe that preserving the gun with roses is quite beneficial to keeping a
safe community. By doing this, it reminds people that there is no need for any violence at all.
Eliminating all harm for the future generation is my main goal, for them to live a peaceful life.
