Holder of a BSc. in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of the West Indies which granted
me the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary teams, both in the classroom and on the job site.

University of the West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago | 2013 – 2016
 Final year project included the designing of a plant which would produce 60 tons of ammonia per hour
from raw materials available locally in Trinidad and Tobago.
 Spearheaded and presented alongside a six-member team to outline operations and design the plant for
ammonia production.
 Designed the heat exchanger and absorber along with a pump and a tank as the major and minor
equipment to be utilized in the ammonia production.
 UHDE technology was utilized to establish the plant at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea where it
would operate at 330 days per year.

Project Assistant in UWI Laboratory | University of the West Indies | Dec 2020 – Present



Responsible for restructuring and transforming the techniques utilized for discourse for Reaction
Engineering and Transportation Phenomena courses at UWI to improve student retention throughout
the pandemic.
Assisted in overseeing the operations of the furnace and bomb calorimeter by MSc. students for
research projects.
Ensured that laboratory equipment was properly calibrated and maintained & proper documentation
kept on laboratory activities.
Event Coordinator/Decorator | 2017 – Present (Part-time)



Pioneered my own small business, Empirical Designs, where event decorating services are provided.
Used my problem solving and decision making skills to coordinate from inception to disassembly, the
execution of various themed events as per the client’s request at homes, offices and private spaces.
Hired staff on a part-time basis and clearly communicated ideas to them so that jobs were successfully
executed.

Orchestrated major solo projects for 2+ years utilizing interior design and event decorating expertise to
successfully satisfy client’s request, notably a two-day wedding and a reception hosting 200+ guests.

Responsible for tutoring a group of 25 in the subject area of Additional Mathematics at the CSEC level.

Directly involved in a collaboration project between the University of the West Indies, and the Food
and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), on the integrated development of valueadded cassava products in the Caribbean.
Obtained and processed raw cassava samples to produce flour and mash for analytical testing.
Conducted research and laboratory testing which included water absorption, solubility, use of the Rapid
Visco Analyzer (RVA) and centrifuge technologies as well as Anova software.
Prepared detailed reports on the results obtained from experimentation which were reviewed by senior
lecturers at the department.
Coordinated conferences and seminars hosted by the department of Food Technology for visiting
professionals of FAO and local counterparts. Administrative duties included making reservations for
visitors at university lodging and ensuring that proper itineraries, meals, and transportation were
provided.
Leadership & Volunteering
Hillview College Events Committee | 2011-2013
One of the founders of the Hillview College Events Committee where student power was used to assist,
plan and execute special events and functions on the school calendar such as graduations, Founder’s Day
and school concerts.
Volunteering Programme | 2012
Tutored a group of young primary school students (aged 7-10 years old) in an after-school homework
program for one year at the Charis Works Christian Academy.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) | 2006 -2010
Worked on many pioneering projects amongst schools in Trinidad and Tobago, including the sustainable
development of food production. Grow box systems were installed at Hillview College by student members,
including myself, with the guidance of Wasamake Farms, Trinidad.
