Hamlet is a humanitarian, he does not want to be a king, and he believes that humanity is
greater than the ways of God. He loves life and ghts evil, but he thinks more than he does
and is an indecisive man. While Hamlet thinks about death in the play - his father is killed, he
kills himself, and he tries to kill his uncle - he is struck by the "harshness" of such a swift
death. But he is still shaken by such a "harsh" and swift death. After what happened to him
and all the deaths he witnessed and mourned, Hamlet no longer felt particularly precious or
attached to his life.
