**This step is to drop the stat table and recreate it and upgrade stat table
to the latest
Day 14- (02/12/2022 , Friday)
-Online meeting with Mr Leung :

On December 12, 2022 application database instances were
unsuccessfully exported.
o Error message:
ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in
tablespace TEMP
o Solution:
Increase the tablespace size of the TEMP and redo the export
-Redoing the Section 5: Export the Applications database instance
-Revised and finalized the November report of TAR UC
-Preparing December report of TAR UC
-Online meeting with Supervisor Sally Wong to update the work progress
report
-Online meeting with Jeremy for knowledge sharing
Day 15 – (05/12/2022, Monday) –Replacement (Self learning)
-Understanding Database Hardening
 A practise where the administrator will look for security
vulnerabilities in a database and find ways to fix them.

-The process of database hardening
 Regulate and limit the user access and privileges
 Protect or encrypt the database resources and information
 Turn off unused database services and features that causes
vulnerabilities.

 Lock database accounts if detected suspicious login activity
 Enforcing strong and more complex database passwords
 Limiting administrative rights, privileges, and responsibilities

-Understanding what application hardening is
 Application hardening is a cybersecurity technique to protect
application from mobile frauds, tempering and malicious attacks.
-Understanding Benefits of application hardening
 To avoid financial loss
 Protect brand image and reputation
-Review the documentation that updated by Cheong Oon Kuan
-Understanding what Oracle OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) is
 Calculating across dimensions (A structure that categorizes data) and
through hierarchies (A way to organize data at different levels of
aggregation) - this provide more efficient way to calculate data.
-Understanding what Oracle OLAP can do
 A multidimensional model that can be quickly defined using
powerful analytical techniques.
 Productively deliver analytical data to any reporting and analysis
tool using simple SQL.

Utilizing materialised views based on cubes, improve summary
queries against tables in a transparent manner.
-Keep in touch with Cheong Oon Kuan to discuss the work being done and

Day 17 -(07/12/2022, Wednesday) – Replacement (Self learning )
-Understanding what the function of CTXSYS user are


Oracle CTXSYS user was used in Oracle Text - for text (document
like HTML, XML and MS Word) indexing, word and theme
searching and text viewing.
CTXSYS user can view CTXSYS indexes

CTXSYS user can sync CTXSYS indexes
-Understanding what the function is of Expdp Parallel Option

This is to improve export and import performance
-Understanding what the function of Expdp Compression is





You can select what, if anything, you want to compress in your
export by using the COMPRESSION argument.
ALL: Both metadata and data are compressed.
DATA_ONLY: Only data is compressed.
METADATA_ONLY: Only metadata is compressed. This is the
default setting.
NONE: Nothing is compressed.

Data profiling and data quality
Business level integration of ERP application data

-Understanding of DBA_TAB_PRIVS table

The table describe all objects that are granted in the database.
-Understanding GRANT in SQL




GRANT is use by an owner to give privileges to another user to
access the owner’s objects.
Example of Privileges are SQL Select,Create, Delete, Drop, Update
and Execute.
Privileges can be System or Object Privileges
The object can be a Table, Index, Package or Procedure.
o Example
Example 1: To grant the Owner SYS’s user SELECT on TABLE
DBA_TABLES to Owner OWBSYS
GRANT SELECT ON SYS.DBA_TABLES TO OWBSYS;
Example 2: To grant the Owner SYS’s user EXECUTE on PACKAGE
DBA_LOB to Owner OWBSYS
GRANT EXECUTE ON SYS.DBMS_LOB TO OWBSYS;

o Generate target database instance creation script aucrsb.sql
o Record Advanced Queue settings
o Remove rebuild index parameter in spatial indexes
o Synchronize Text indexes

Section 3: Export the source Release 12 database instance - ongoing
o Create the export parameter file
o Ensure Applications patching cycle is complete
o Shut down Applications server processes
o Grant privilege to source system schema
o Export OLAP analytical workspaces (optional)
o Export the Applications database instance
