Lead Auditor
Training Course
Aimed at:
API Q1 is aimed at manufacturing organisations operating in the
Oil & Gas industry.
Course Overview:
This course is designed to train delegates in the principles and practices
of undertaking Spec Q1 (API) quality management system audits. These
are in line with the generic guidelines laid down in ISO 19011 and the
requirements of ISO EN 17021.
Delegates will also learn the skills and techniques of auditing and how
to communicate the findings of the audit effectively to the management
of the audited organisation. On completion of the course, delegates should
also understand the principles of accreditation and certification schemes.
Delegates will be provided with the knowledge needed to audit and
improve quality management systems. The course comprises a mix
of lectures and practical exercises including role play and case studies,
providing a full understanding of the quality audit process.

experience working in the
Oil & Gas sector, covering
all areas of manufacturing,
engineering, inspection,
NDT, HSE and Quality
assurance. In addition
to Training, Scott is an
accomplished auditor,
leading client audits using
a range of standards
including Spec Q1,
Q2 (API) and ISO 9001.
Rakesh has over 10 years
of experience, in all areas of
inspection, manufacturing &
quality assurance of drilling
equipment. He performs
failure investigations, audits
and is responsible for the
company’s BHA/drill pipe
distance learning
training material.
Alex has over 20 years
experience in Quality
Management and all areas
of inspection, manufacturing
and quality assurance of
drilling equipment. He
performs audits internationally
against various standards
e.g. NS-1, API -5DP, Q1/Q2
and ISO 9001 which include
Drill pipe, Drill Collars and
Tool Joint Manufacturers,
Equipment Rental and
Inspection Companies.
Additionally, Alex manages
the company’s NS
Accreditation business.
