About this Course




This course is an introduction to the dynamics
and vibrations of mechanical systems.

After this course, students will be able to
evaluate free and forced vibration of linear
singe- and multi-degree of freedom models of
mechanical systems and matrix eigenvalue
problems.

Course Objectives






The purpose of the course is to develop the skills
needed to design and analyze mechanical systems in
which vibration problems are typically encountered.

These skills include analytical and numerical
techniques that allow the student to model the
system, analyze the system performance and
employ the necessary design changes.

parameters affect the system response.

Reports and Exams



During the course, students take two reports
and one final exam.
Both reports are based on the first and
second chapter of the textbook.
The final exam will be closed book. One
page (A4, front and back) of handwritten
notes will be allowed at the final exam.
