Then if any man changes it after hearing it, the sin shall rest upon those who change it;

'We give thee good tidings of truth. Be not of those that despair.'
Al-Hijr, 55

much alike to us;

Al-Baqara, 70

Beautified is the life of this world for those who disbelieve, and they ridicule those who
believe.

Al-Baqara 212
To glorify

َ ۡ َ ۡ َ ُ ُ َ َ ََ ‫ۡل َب‬
َ ۡ ‫شَ ََوٱ ۡۡل‬
َ‫اق‬
َِّ ‫ۡش‬
ِّ ‫إِّناَسخرناَٱ‬
ِّ َِّ ِّ ‫الَمع َه َۥَيسبِّحنََب ِّٱلع‬
We committed the mountains to glorify with him, in the evening and at daybreak.
Sad, 18

َ َّ ِّ ‫َس َّب َح‬
َّ ‫َِّماَِفَٱ‬
َ ۡ ‫يزَٱ‬
َ١‫ِّيم‬
َُ ‫ۡلك‬
َُ ‫ۡرضَ َو ُه َوَٱل َع ِّز‬
َ ِّ ‫لس َم َٰ َوَٰتََِّ ََوٱۡل‬
ِّ ‫َّلل‬
All that is in the heavens and the earth magnifies God; He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.
Al-Hadid, 1

‫َسخ ََر‬

and He subjected to you the sun and moon constant upon their courses, and He
subjected to you the night and day,

Ibrahim, 33
To believe sth to be true
َ َ َْ ُ ُ َ ََ ۡ ُ َ َ َ ٗ َ ُ ُ َۡ ََٓ ْ ُ ََ
َ‫كون ٓواَأ َّولََكف ِّرَِۢب ِّ َهِّ َۦ‬
‫وءامِّنواَبِّماَأنزلتَمصدِّقاَل ِّماَمعكمَوَلَت‬
And believe in that I have sent down, confirming that which is with you, and be not the
first to disbelieve in it.
Al-Baqara, 41
َّ
َ‫َع َذ َب‬
To torment, to punish
َ
َٰ َّ
ۡ
ٗ َ َ َ ۡ ُ ُ َ ُ َ ْ ُ َ َ َ َّ َّ َ َ
َ ‫ِص‬
َ‫ين‬
َ ِّ ‫َعذ ٗاباَشدِّيد‬
‫ِّينَكفرواَفأعذِّبهم‬
َ ‫فأماَٱَّل‬
ِِّّ ‫اَِفَٱ ُّدلن َيَاَ ََوٱٓأۡلخ َِّرَة َِّ َو َماَل ُهمَمِّنَن‬
As for the unbelievers, I will chastise them with a terrible chastisement in this world
and the next; they shall have no helpers.'
Aal-i-Imran, 56
َّ
‫َعل ََم‬
To teach
And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then He presented them unto the angels
َ ٰٓ َ ۡ َ َ
َ َ َّ ُ َ َّ ُ َ ٓ َ ۡ َ ۡ َ َ َ َ َّ َ َ
ََِّ‫َع َرض ُه ۡمَلَعَٱل َملئِّكة‬
‫وعلمَءادمَٱۡلسما َءَُكهاَثم‬
َ
َ‫ق َّد َم‬
Al-Baqara, 31
To send forward
َ ۡ َ َّ َ َ َ َ َ ُ ۡ َّ َ َ َ َ َ
َ‫تَأيۡدِّي ِّه َۡم‬
‫ولنَيتمنوهَأبدۢاَبِّماَقدم‬
But they will never long for it, because of that their hands have forwarded; God knows
the evildoers;
Al-Baqara, 95
َّ َ
َ‫كذ َب‬
To accuse of falsehood
َ ُ َٰ َ َ ۡ ُ َّ ُ َٰ َ ۡ َ َ ٰٓ َ ْ ُ ٓ َ َٰ َ ْ ُ َّ َ َ ْ ُ َ َ َ َّ َ
َ‫ون‬
َ ‫ِل‬
ِّ ‫ارَِّهمَفِّيهاَخ‬
َ ‫كَأصحبَٱَل‬
َ ِّ ‫ِّينَكفرواَوكذبواَأَ‍ِبيتِّناَأولئ‬
َ ‫َوٱَّل‬
As for the unbelievers who cry lies to Our signs, those shall be the inhabitants of the
Fire, therein dwelling forever.'
َ َّ َ
‫نب َأ‬
Al-Baqara, 39
To declare, to tell
ُ ۡ َ
َّ َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ۡ ُّ َ ْ ُ َ ۡ َ َّ ُ
َ‫ّللَم ِّۡنَأخ َبارِّك َۡم‬
َُ ‫ك ۡمَق ۡدَن َّبأناَٱ‬
‫قلََلَتعتذِّرواَلنَنؤمِّنَل‬
Say: 'Do not excuse yourselves; we will not believe you. God has already told us tidings
of you.

‫ن َّز َل‬
At-Tawba, 94
To send down

Al-Baqara, 23
َٰ َّ َ‫ن‬

To rescue
ٓ َ َّ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ ۡ َ ۡ ُ َ ٓ َ ْ ُ ُ ۡ َ ۡ ُ َّ َ ْ ٓ ُّ َ َ ُ ُ ُّ َ َ ۡ َ ۡ َ َّ َ
ٰٓ ‫ح‬
َ‫َمنَنشا َُء‬
‫لَوظنواَأنهمَقدَكذِّبواَجاءهمَنِصناَفن ِّّج‬
َ ‫سَٱلرس‬
َ َ‫َّتَإِّذاَٱستي‬
Till, when the Messengers despaired, deeming they were counted liars, Our help came
to them and whosoever We willed was delivered.
Yusuf , 110

َ‫َو َّٰل‬
to turn away, to turn

َ ‫مَم ۢن ََب ۡعدَِّذَٰل‬
ِّ ‫ث َّمَت َوَّلۡ ُت‬
Then you turned away thereafter,
Al-Baqara, 64
