Transportation and mobility needs increase as the world moves to sustainable and ecological forms of energy A world-wide change is in progress. This is highly visible in Germany´s renowned automotive industry and in its national strategy of energy transition © mineworks This needs new engineers. They must be: Highly innovative interdisciplinary thinkers Trained in mobility concepts and new powertrain technologies (hydrogen, electrical) Experts in core engineering skills Skilled project managers and communicators © FH AACHEN | Department of Aerospace Engineering | © mineworks 28.10.2021 3 Web Session Master in International Automotive Engineering What´s going on out there? – 2/2 To add, economies are recovering from the Covid crisis. Any crisis and any recession is followed by booms. Booms need more well trained engineers. In mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and mobility systems. Job changes due to the Covid crisis and demographic developments reduce the engineering workforce. This means: there are many job opportunities. A1: While fuel-cell cars are already available, the question remains just what the future is for hydrogen as a fuel in combustion engines: how to store the energy? How to get hydrogen into the tank or charge cars? Our research projects look at some of these issues. Q2: What is the benefit of the dual degree? (M.Sc. In International Automotive Engineering with FH Aachen plus M.Eng. from RMIT) A2: Students obtain two perspectives on the Automotive industry (“two worlds“), increase their skill set and factual knowledge. Holding both degrees offers paramount flexibility in the job market. Q3: What is the fee structure at RMIT? A3: Unlike FH Aachen or other German public universities, RMIT asks for tuition fees. Participants in our dual degree programme do not have to pay these tuition fees, which is a saving in excess of €10.000. Q4:Is there a relaxation in German language requirements due to the Covid situation? A4: Unfortunately, we may not relax the mandatory requirement or an A2 certificate in German upon enrolment. Students do, however, have time until graduation to obtain their B1 in German. Q5: can I apply for the programme although I studied electric and automatic engineering, and can I apply before my certificate is awarded? A5: yes, it is possible to apply before you get your certificate. In this case, you must submit a transript of records with an overall grade stated on it and all details on the subjects covered, so that we may see if requirements are met. Q6: Is a GRE score of 76% and AWA3 sufficient to apply? A6: Unfortunately, that GRE score is not sufficient and will result in a rejection. We do not consider AWA scores.
