lazy john
It was a bright and
sunny morning, John
was still in his deep
slumber when his
alarm clock rang.
Sound waves are a
phenomenon we can hear but
not see. Physics studies the
origin of sound, its qualities,
and its propagation. The
alarm clock uses quantum
mechanics.
Argh! Why is there
something noisy
early in the
morning!? I haven’t
had enough sleep
since last night.
John put a pillow over
his head and slept
through the alarm.
His mum checked on
him after awhile.
John! Get up you
lazy kid. It's 10:00
in the morning, and
I need you to sell
bibingka in the
local town.
John got up and
fixed himself.
His mother was waiting
for him in their kitchen
and when he saw that
John was coming. she
fixed the bibingka on the
bilao.
What took you so
long, John? You
must sell these rice
cakes while they're
still delicious and
new.
When an object is
balanced, it is in
equilibrium. Any forces
on the object are
balanced by opposite
forces.
Physics makes walking easy. In a
park or on a tar road, the
roughness or resistance
between your shoes and the
road prevents slipping. "Friction"
or "Traction" is the holding
resistance.
John sold all the bibingka and was returning home when he saw a
tree. He went to his favorite riverside place. John travels 5m south,
then 3m east to reach his favorite area. While relaxing, he noticed
there was still 1 piece of bibingka on the bilao, so he ate it and rested
alone under the tree.
While glancing at the sky,
he noticed a ripe mango on
a tree.
John tried to reach the
fruit of the mango tree
but he couldn't really
reach it, he puffed a
breath of frustration
I'll just lay here
and wait till the
mangoes start
falling.
John's phone rang while
he was waiting for the
mango to fall. He pulled
it out and saw his
mother calling.
Son, I've been
looking for you
for an hour. Come
home, it's late
Yes mom, I'll be
there in a couple
minutes.
Cell phones involve
electricity,
electromagnetic
spectrum, undulating
patterns, magnets, and
sound waves.
He ran home quickly. Soon after he
left, a strong breeze blew through the
tree. Tasty mango fell on the ground.
Gravity on Earth is
what causes
objects to fall and
what maintains
you on the ground.
