Selection Process
Nirma University is one of India’s leading
Universities based in Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
It provides an intellectual platform and
opportunities for young aspirants to interact
and learn through learning to build and building
to learn Processes. Institute of Design
established its programme in 2017 offering
professional education in two main disciplines
Industrial Design & Communication Design.
The following will be given for each component
of the selection criteria and will be computed
based on the following:
1. Personal interview of candidates will evaluate
1. UCEED 2022* / NU-DET: 80%
(UCEED candidates get an additional 10%
on their score)
2. Personal Interview: 20%

Programmes Offered
• B.Des Industrial Design
• B.Des Communication Design
The 4 year Bachelor of Design Programme
begins with a common Foundation year. This
is an intense 15 weeks of learning in each of
the 8th semesters in the studios, classrooms,
workshops and through field work. Learning
occurs through Apprenticeships and
internships during summer vacation period
each year. The 8th semester is a 4 months
Major Research Project in the industry on the
basis of which the final Degree is granted.

students (portfolio) may be shown to the
Interview panel.
2. NRI students who have passed their
qualifying examination form outside India will
be exempted from giving the Entrance Test.
Their evaluation for Merit will be based on
the minimum qualifying marks as per Nirma
University rules of higher secondary education
or equivalent exam of the country of residence,
skype interview, two letters of recommendation
from senior school teachers and portfolio
shared through email.
