The teacher will play the video of El Gamma Penumbra during their
contest in Asia’s Got Talent. The students will analyse the concept being
portrayed in the shadow dance and how it affect their personality.
Questions to be asked:
A. What was the message shown in the video?
B. How did it affects you?
C. What were your realization from the video?
D. As a student, why do you have to understand the
importance of protecting mother nature
The teacher will show the
winning painting of Jomer
Manalo, one of the former
students of Pantay National
High School. The said painting
won 1st place in Pintahusay as
part of the 2015 Tanauan City
Division Festival of Talents.
The students will interpret the
message of the painting based
on their own understanding.
The teacher will discuss how social realism been brought to people
through contemporary art. How important art is in awakening the
perception and reception of students regarding social issues.
F. Developing mastery
The teacher will show different paintings from various artists and the
students will interpret the message of the painting based on their own
perception.
The class will be divided into three. Each group will collaborate with each
other and create a presentation of a given social issue existing around
them thru different contemporary art forms. They will be given 10
minutes to finish and present their output accordingly.

If Jose Rizal used his novel in enlightening the mind of the people of
what is happening in our country, as a student and a youth of today what
contemporary art forms are you going to use to do the same thing as Rizal
did in promoting social realism? Why?
The teacher will project the word “Social Realism” and the students
will explain and cite some examples of contemporary art that promotes
social realism.
The teacher will play the music video of the song “Tatsulok “ by
Bamboo and the students will answer the questions the teacher will give
them.
Answer the following questions based on the song “Tatsulok”.
a. What are the different social issues presented on the song?
b. What are the things you realized after listening to the music?
c. Does the song helps you to open your awareness in the
problems of the society?
d. If you are a contemporary artist , what art form will you use to
promote social realism? Why?
