SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC III I. Objectives: At the end of the period, the students are expected to; a. define what is tempo b. differentiate fast and slow tempo through beats and movements c. appreciate the importance of tempo in our everyday routine. Content Matter Topic: Tempo: slow and fast Reference: MAPEH Music 3 Materials: Pictures, ppt/ visual aids, audios Values Integration: Cooperation, Activeness II. Learning Procedure A. Preliminary Activities • Prayer • Greetings Greet the students and ask them to seat properly • Energizer Sing the “Twinkle, twinkle litter star” • Checking of attendance • Setting of classroom standards • Passing of assignments • Review Dynamics B. Motivation Show a picture of a turtle and a rabbit. • Who do you think will win in a race? • Why do you say so? • What is the speed of the turtle? • What is the speed of the rabbit? C. ACTIVITY Group activity • • • The students will be divided in to 4 groups. Each group will be given a puzzle picture to rearrange and assemble. After arranging the puzzle, they will imitate its movement and perform in front with appropriate tempo. D. ANALYSIS 1. The teacher will ask the students to give an example of animal that is fast in speed. 2. The teacher will ask the students give an example of animal that is slow in speed. 3. Introduce tempo as a speed of music. E. ABSTRACTION • Tempo: Lento and Allegro ➢ Define what is Lento (slow) and Allegro (fast) in tempo. ➢ Give an example of lento and allegro through a song. ➢ Give example of tempo using imitation of mimicking of movements of animals. ➢ Slow tempo as commonly used in lullabies, sad songs, love songs, etc... ➢ Fast tempo as commonly used in happy dance and party songs. Generalization 1. What is tempo? 2. How do you think tempo is important in music and in our daily routines? F. APPLICATION • • Ask the students to go back in their group mates. Let them perform and present to the class the movements of the animals that will be flash and say what does the animal use. III. EVALUATION Instruction: Give at least five animals with fast tempo and another 5 example of animals that has slow tempo. IV. ASSIGNMENT Choose a partner and practice the action of the chant, “Double, Double” and perform it in the next meeting.
