C. Abstraction

_Ma’am as I can observe during our
previous activity, I think it’s all about the
different notes.
Yes Andrea?
Very good Andrea. Thank you!
Today class we will be learning the
different kinds of notes and their
corresponding beats. But first let we tell
you what is note.
Note is a musical sound. It represents
the pitch and duration of a sound in
musical notation. Duration refers to how
long the tone and silence last.
Notation is a method of writing down
music so that it can be performed vocally
and instrumentally.
Can you read the 5 words that we
formed from the jumbled letters earlier.

As you can see, there are notes, rests
and time values. Notes are musical

denote certain tones to be sounded.
Rests are musical symbol denotes
silences or pause on the staff while time
value represents how many
counts/beats are there in the symbol.
_1 beat teacher.

For the quarter note, how many beats
are there?
How about the whole rest?
Excellent class!
Generalization
What are the parts of note?
Now, what is duration?
_The Head, stem and the hook.
_ Ma’am duration is referring to how
long could be the tone or silence last.
Impressive!
Class, how many counts are there in a
half rest?
Excellent!
_There are 2 counts Ma’am.
Is it important to learn the different kinds
of notes?
_Yes Ma’am.
Why do you say so Ryan?
_Ma’am it is important to learn the
different kinds of notes because it
allows people to interpret music.
Correct! Very good. Class, we must keep
in mind that without notes music can’t be
performed vocally and instrumentally.
So, it is very important that we learn the
different kinds of notes.
D. Application
Because of that, we will be having
another group activity. So go back to
your pervious group mates.
Instruction:
Every group will be given a board and a
chalk. I will show you a picture its either
a note or a rest and identify what kind of
note or rest it is. Write your answers on
the board. After 10 seconds, you will
need to raise your board and show your
answer. Every correct answer you will
have 5 points.
The group who will get a higher score
will get a prize.
But before that, I will give additional 10
points for cooperation if I can see that all
of your groupmates are participating.
Do you have any questions?
Okay let start.
