Name of the School Observed: Estefania Montemayor National High School Location of the School: Brgy. Ongol Ilaya Dumarao, Capiz Date of Visit: The room where we were assigned was indeed not well-ventilated, and I think this is the reason why the students cannot concentrate well to their lessons. In the reason that it was an open-area, the sun beams directly affecting the rooms making it to be sultry. As I entered Estefania, there are a lot of things that amazed me a lot. One of these is, the teachers are using speaker and microphone when having their class which I have not experienced during our high school life. In some other rooms, there are some audio/visual guides that being used to assist the learners’ mental process. Meanwhile, when crossing to the room, the students are greeting us good afternoon, visitors which indeed heartwarming. We take our response when they also greet me. My Analysis How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact on the learning of the students going to school? What are your conclusions? The condition of every building and the school environment had really affect the students learning development. The students cannot concentrate into their classes if their school environment does not suit to their learning adaptability. Thus, in educating the students, we should have to consider a best environment for them. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/ How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning? It was said that the environment of a child affects a lot to his development. When taking into this kind of stage, this is the very crucial level on which what the child experiences be can bore within his life. What environment he experiences might be remained handled within his existence. The purpose of the observation is to provide opportunity for you to relate theory to actual practice. To help you do this, remember to: know and understand what exactly you need to observe study the observatio n guides, listen to your FS teacher and ask questions to be sure all is clear to you have paper and pen ready to jot down details carefully separate facts from interpretat ions accomplish the checklists / forms as soon as possible so the details are still fresh in your mind. FS 1 [THE LEARNER’S DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENT] My Reflection 1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not? Yes. The school had indeed good facilities, and if it happened that the school has not, I will not change my decision because student that schooling in a public schools need more attention to guide their educational experiences. I have seen that it is hard for them to study on that kind of environment but their perseverance to learn had catch my attention so much. 2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning? The school campus that is conducive for learning must have a complete, good and operating facilities. There must have also no pollution, clean and well-organized amenities which can able to enhance students learning process without any hindrances from its environment. 3. What kind of school classroom is conducive to learning? A conducive for learning classroom must be clean, free from pollution, properly ventilated and has a complete facilities. Facilities involved aircon, microphone with bass and comfort room. The floor must also be tiled. 4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3? Being a good teacher someday, I can accomplish my answer in number 3 by seeking a financial aid to our politicians. I can also avoid corruption within the students funds because the students purpose in sending their selves in school is just to learn and not being bribed by any financial entity. 5. Write you additional learning insights here. Learning can be motivated. Thus, the environment of the school campus has an important role in motivating the students learning. How could any student study well if their rooms are sultry? Then, it is my opinion to say that the learner’s environment can affect the learner’s learning development. FS 1 [THE LEARNER’S DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENT] My Portfolio My Personal Illustration of an Effective School Environment Effective School The effective school must possess these kinds of aspects. These involve stimulating and secure learning environment on which the child are free from any harm of murder or accident. Professional leadership must also take place because the learners always depend to what the teacher instructs. Focus on teaching and learning are some point that should have to take into consideration, too. There should have a purposeful teaching, shared vision and goals, high expectations of all learners, accountability and learning communities.
