INTRODURCTION
• Integrity is a vital subject in ensuring
success of an individual in all life’s
pursuit. Lack of integrity tends to
failure in life. Therefore, integrity is a
virtue that must be acquired for our
life to become valuable.
4
.
• Integrity is man's greatest asset! It is to
be desired above money because
according to the words of Billy Graham
"when wealth is lost, nothing is lost,
when health is lost, something is lost but
when character is lost, everything is lost".
• Integrity is to be sought after above
anything else.
5
• In the words of Bishop Oyedepo ‘’Character
should be considered as one of the
greatest assets in the school of success.
Character will take you to where ability
can never”.
• “A good name is rather to be chosen than
great riches, and loving favour rather than
silver and gold.” Proverbs 22:1
6
WHAT IS INTEGRITY?
• According to Webster’s Dictionary, integrity is
“adherence to moral and ethical principles;
soundness of moral character;
honesty.” Integrity is the quality or a state of
being unimpaired, state of sound moral
principles upright, honest and sincere. This
implies that from our perspective of integrity, it
is living within the confines of a given moral
standard.
7
• It can also be defined as a.state of completeness,
wholeness, undamaged, soundness of life. It is an
oath you swear to your own hurt regardless of the
cost.
• Integrity is the possession of the firm principles or
qualities that can lead to the attainment of the
desired standard. You cannot separate integrity from
morality.
• To further buttress the definition above, it is
important to understand that integrity is of the heart.
(1Kg. 9:4; Ps. 78:72)
8
• Until integrity becomes a responsibility, it cannot
become a characteristic or identity. (Job 2:3,9)
• Integrity is not just an action, it is a lifestyle, it is a
walk of obedience. (Ps. 26:1, 11; Prov.20:7). It
demands determination.
• It is an oath you swear to your own hurt
regardless of the cost.
