education is the key to success (essay)

To start with, when people are asked what the key to success in life is, a few things
come to their mind: being charismatic, being born into a wealthy family and knowing
the right people, have a high paying job, or just plain luck. Although all of the above are
true, the true key to success is education.
That is to say, education is the backbone of a nation. On the contrary, illiteracy is a
curse. Indeed, illiteracy is one of the most serious problems in any country. If the
maximum people are educated, the country will be developed.
On the contrary, a country can make no progress until its people become literate up to a
satisfactory rate. A country may have many skyscrapers and monuments but it does not
mean that the country is well established. That means illiteracy is a curse. It makes all
development efforts impossible.
The way I see it, I highly consider that illiteracy is a prominent problem in the world
today. It is unquestionably a noticed problem, but governments are doing very little to
get involved. Illiteracy has grown rapidly in the world; its effects have grown severely
enough to hurt enough of the literate population. It still continues to grow rapidly; thus
becoming a real problem to society.
Furthermore, there are some reasonable reasons or, causes for illiteracy. For example,
poverty causes people to remain illiterate. The lack of a proper education budget from a
reduced government can be a main factor.
To my mind, the illiterate people are the burden of the nation. They create problems,
chaos, and confusion, hinder national development, increase population at an alarming
rate, cover the land with barbarism, break the existing law and order, pollute the
environment and do everything in an orthodox manner.
To remove illiteracy certain steps should immediately and urgently be taken. The
system of mass and old aged education should be introduced all over the countries. The
system of scholarship for scholars and stipends for all general students should be
introduced throughout the country. A penalty system like fine, tax, or punishment under
any section should be imposed upon those people who drop out or leave the schools
before completing the scheduled course of studies.
To sum up, we shall take honest and sincere efforts to eradicate illiteracy from the
society. Otherwise, no plans and programs will be successful. As illiteracy is the root of
all evils, we must try heart and soul to remove it.
