AUTHOR: AUSTIN DUNHAM What’s up! Austin Dunham back again with another e-book! Today we are going to quickly discuss three Handstand CHEAT CODES that I’ve learned over the past few years. If you’re looking to improve your handstand ASAP do these! Cheat Code #1 – Stomach To Wall Holds When many people start training their handstand at first. Usually you will see them kicking up back to the wall practicing their holds, and that’s it. However, what if I told you that stomach to wall handstand MORE holds worth are your actually time. It’s because stomach to wall holds forces you to really push through your shoulders while maintaining alignment. Unlike the back to wall hold which encourages banana back. Both can be useful but stomach to wall should be the go-to from here on out. Keep your hands as close to the wall as possible when training. Cheat Code #2 – Shoulder ABOVE wrist In order to hold a handstand all your joints must be stacked up above each other. Shoulder over wrist. Hips over shoulders. Feet Over Hips. That’s why I teach people to start their handstand with palms on the ground with shoulders over the wrist THEN kick up. This makes the stacking part even easier because we already have our wrist and shoulder stacked before we even kick up! Which will overall make the handstand easier to balance. When learning always kick up into the handstand this way. Cheat Code #3 – Practice I know what you’re thinking… “Austin PRACTICING is NOT a cheat code!” Well… hear me out first alright. Yes, practicing should be obvious but it’s about HOW we practice. With handstands and other CaliStatics Skills frequency is very important when it comes to learning. An easy way to up the frequency is by dedicating 15 minutes of handstand practice before every single training session you do. At the gym or at home it doesn’t matter. I believe even IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman could learn how to handstand if he practiced this way. Just think about it, the volume really adds up over time. If you workout 4 days a week and did this it would be around 4 hours of practiced a month just from a quick 15 minutes. There you have it! Take these 3 quick handstand cheat codes and watch your handstand improve over time. Now if you want to handstand know my training exact routines along with how to train other calisthenics skills (Planche, Front Lever, Back Lever etc.) then check out CaliStatics where I lay it all out for you!!
