Procedure
Teacher’s Activity
A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
“Before we start, please all stand and
let us have a short prayer”
Learner’s Activity
(The student will all stand)
“____ , please lead the prayer”
“Yes Sir, are you ready to pray
classmate?”
“Yes we are” (Classmate)
2. Greetings
“Good morning, Grade 7- Love”
“Good morning Sir Jom”
3. Checking of Cleanliness and
Orderliness
“Before you sit, please pick up the
pieces of paper under you chair and
table. Also arrange your chair properly”
(The student will pick up the pieces
of paper under their chair and table.
They also arrange their chair
properly)
“You may sit now”
“Thank you Sir”
4. Checking of Attendance
“Do we have absentees for today?
Can i have the list of those absent”
“Thank you”
“Yes Sir”
5. Review
“Okay, before we proceed to the
next topic, let us recall first what we
have discussed yesterday.
Anyone?”
(Raising their hands)
“Arranging real numbers in
increasing or decreasing order”
“Yes, ____?”
“Very good, ___”
“Example 81, 97, 123, 137 and 201
are arranged in ascending or
increasing order”
“Can you give an example?”
“Correct, Another example”
B. Motivation
In our motivation will be using a Study
Smarter for an Instructional Material.
This IMS will show some flashcards
that’s have an equation about
polynomials and each of you will
answer it.
“Example 187, 121, 117, 103 and 99
are arranged in descending or
decreasing order”
“Yes Sir”
“Are you ready class?”
“15cats and 6 dogs”
(flashing the cards)
“Jack has 8 cats and 2 dogs. Jill has 7
cats and 4 dogs. How many dogs and
cats are there in all?”
“That’s correct, next question”
(flashing the cards)
“Rhonda has 12 apples, Douglas has 6
apple but Rhonda has a twice of
number of orange as Berta. Bertha has
3 orange. How many apple and orange
that they have?”
“Excellent, last question before we
proceed to our lesson“
(flashing the cards)
“18 apples and 9 orange”
“Jack has 7 cupcake and he give the 3
to his friend while Fred has a 5 ice
cream and Linda give her another 2 ice
cream. How many cupcake and ice
cream left?
“4 cupcake and 7 ice cream”
“Good job!”
C. Discussion
“Let’s proceed now to our topic
which is adding and subtracting
polynomial”
“A polynomial looks like this”
“To add polynomials we simply add any
like terms together”
“Like terms are terms that have the
same variable and power. In order
words, terms that are like each other.”
“We have two steps to add
polynomials, first is to place the like
terms together and second is add the
like terms”
For example add the polynomials
2x + 6x + 5 and 3x – 2x – 1
Start with: 2x + 6x + 5 and 3x – 2x – 1
Place like terms: 2x + 6x + 3x – 2x + 5
–1
Which is: (2+6+3-2)x + (5-1)
Add the like terms: 9x + 4
“Did you get it class?”
“I will give an example of polynomial
and try to add it. Example 4x + 5x + 1
and 3x – 2x +2 is equal to?”
“Yes Sir”
“(4x + 5x + 3x – 2x) + (1 + 2) = 10x +
3”
“Very good”
“Next is subtracting polynomials, To
subtract polynomials first reverse the
sign of each term we are subtracting (in
other words turns + into – and – into + )
then add as usual”
For example:
(5𝑦 2 + 2xy – 9 ) – (2𝑦 2 + 2𝑥𝑦 − 3 )
5𝑦 2 + 2xy – 9
– 2𝑦 2 + 2𝑥𝑦 − 3
Turns the + to –
5𝑦 2 + 2xy – 9
– 2𝑦 2 − 2𝑥𝑦 + 3
Then add :
3𝑦 2 + 0 − 6
Final answer : 3𝑦 2 − 6
“Did you get it class?”
“I will give another example and one of
you will answer the problem”
“ (5𝑥𝑦 2 + 7𝑦 − 3) − (2𝑥𝑦 2 + 4𝑦 − 5)
answer this question “
“Good job, _____”
“Do you have question or clarification
about our topic for today? I think it’s
none. Thank you class see you next
meeting. Goodbye class”
D. Past Lesson Paper
1. Generalization
“Again, What is our topic?”
“Yes, _____?)
“That’s correct, how do we add
polynomials class?”
“Yes Sir”
-
5𝑥𝑦 2 + 7𝑦 − 3
2𝑥𝑦 2 + 4𝑦 − 5
Turns the + into –
5𝑥𝑦 2 + 7𝑦 − 3
- 2𝑥𝑦 2 − 4𝑦 + 5
3𝑥𝑦 2 + 3𝑦 + 2
“Thank you Sir and Goodbye”
(Raising their hands)
“Sir, our topic for today is all about
Add and Subtract polynomials”
“first is to place the like terms
together and second is add the like
terms”
“first reverse the sign of each term
we are subtracting (in other words
turns + into – and – into + ) then add
as usual”
“How about in subtracting
polynomials?”
“Very good class, I hope you
already understood our lesson
for today”
2. Application
In one whole sheet of paper Add or
Subtract the given polynomials. Show
your solution.
(5𝑥 2 − 3) + (2𝑥 2 − 5)
I.
II. (4 + 2𝑥 2 ) + (5𝑥 2 − 2)
III. (2𝑥 4 − 3𝑥) − (𝑥 4 − 6𝑥)
IV. (12𝑥𝑦 2 + 7𝑥 − 2) + (2𝑥𝑦 2 +
2𝑥 + 4)
V. (7yz 5 − 𝑥) − (3𝑦𝑧 5 − 4)
3. Evaluation
Simplify the expression by combining
like terms and solve the polynomials.
7𝑥 5 + 2𝑥 2 − 3𝑥 2 + 3 − 𝑥 5
4. Assignment
For your assignment, try to answer this
following polynomial in a one whole
sheet of paper.
1. (𝑥 2 + 7𝑥 + 9) + (4𝑥 7 + 5𝑥 2 + 8)
2. (𝑥 5 + 4) + (−𝑥 7 + 7𝑥 + 1)
3. (4𝑥 4 − 7𝑥 2 + 7) − (2𝑥 2 + 5𝑥 +
