Discuss the importance of security to business organization. Effective and reliable workplace security is very important to any business because it reduces insurance, compensation, liabilities, and other expenses that the company must pay to its stakeholders, ultimately leading to increased business revenue and a reduction in operational charges incurred. 2. Explain the importance of Risk Management in developing security program to the organization. - Good security management is based on good risk management because helps an organization consider the full range of risks it faces. Risk management also examines the relationship between risks and the cascading impact they could have on an organization's strategic goals. Indeed, this ensures that risks to your assets and services are continuously evaluated and remediated as appropriate, in order to reduce risk to a level your organization is comfortable with good security can and should enable a quicker response to an incident once it has occurred. - Next, risk management is an important process because it enables the business became trusting environment in customer first sight and they will believe the organization with a good reputation. Moreover, it makes people more safety and they will be more contributes being work. Surely, this will bring the organization gain more benefits and productivity. - Lastly, this would include identifying the vulnerability exposure and threats to each asset because this work will help identify the areas of the highest likelihood and impact if the threat is realized. These should then be given importance and should be prioritized 3. Why management responsible to ensure the effectiveness of their security program? The management responsible to ensure the effectiveness of their security program because to make sure the safety of the customer and staff working at the safety environment. To achieve this you need to be able to show that high level commitment exists. Managers need to show that they have taken steps to help to create a safe and secure working environment and staff need to believe that the organization is committed to creating a secure environment - (b) Understand. Secured Environments organization understands the security risks it faces. In order to ensure that an organization is secure, the risks it is exposed to need to be understood. To demonstrate this senior manager need to be able to describe the risks posed to the organization and explain how the risks and incidents are recorded and monitored. - (c) Respond. A Secured Environments organization develops an effective response to reduce the risks to the organization. There should be crime prevention and security measures in place that are appropriate to the organization based on an analysis of the risk. However, employees should be able to explain their role in creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment. - (d) Management. In a Secured Environments organization security is managed. In order to create a secure environment, the organization needs to have a plan to achieve its aims and objectives. All security measures should be proactively managed; this means that the security measures should be planned. However, security measures can be expensive and it is important to track these costs to enable effective budgeting. You need to show that you know what resources (exple people, time, money and technology) are used within the organization to create a secure environment and that is an efficient use of available resources. - (e) Implement. Secured Environments organization effectively implements security. Many crime prevention measures failed due to poor implementation, you need to demonstrate that you have appropriate processes and procedures in place to ensure that crime prevention initiatives are implemented correctly and provide examples of this. New security measures need to be introduced using project management principles. Although, the nominated lead from the senior management team needs to have a good understanding of the measures that are being taken to address the organization’s crime and disorder problems. - (f) Evaluate. In a Secured Environments organization all crime prevention initiatives are monitored, evaluated and fed back to the organization’s leadership. It is essential that crime prevention initiatives and security measures are assessed to determine whether they are effective such as testing existing security measures and auditing of system and evaluation. 3
