Trade Routes Inventions/Innovations Infomercial
Trade route were essential in helping countries, kingdoms and civilizations transport “goods” efficiently
and safely (as much as possible.) Specific new inventions/innovations were a major component that led
to growth in trade and expansion in trade networks. This assignment will give you a closer look at some
of the most significant inventions/innovations, during that time period.
Task: Your task for this assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to create an infomercial.
Step 1: Select one of the 3 primary trade networks: Tran-Saharan, Silk Road or Indian Ocean.
Step 2: You will have to create a video/Tik-Tok for each of the “goods” listed with your selected trade
network. Each video/Tik-Tok must be at least one minute in length.
Submitting your infomercials: Upload your videos to Your Google Drive, then submit the links to those
videos- please DO NOT submit a Tik-Tok link or upload the videos directly to canvas, as these do not
work!

Each member of each group must participate in order to receive credit for this assignment.
Video/Tik-Tok Time Length: 1 min.
Explain the use and benefits of the innovation/technology that you are trying to sell
Discuss its relevance to your specific trade route
Include a visual aid of the product you are selling
Include the name of the person, who invented each product
Mention the time period, when the invention was made
Include the names of cities, countries, included on your trade route.
