Simon Oti National American University CI3091 - Database Design and Management Kathy Fraser October 16, 2022 Assignment 02: Creating an Account In this assignment, I will give a brief tutorial with screenshots illustrating the signup and setup process of how to sign up for a free Web-based MySQL account with PHPMyAdmin included from https://www.000webhost.com. To create an account with 000webhost, you will have to go to the 000webhost website which is https://www.000webhost.com. Click on “Get Started” and then FREE SIGN UP for the free account (Just a Moment. . ., n.d.). Enter your Email, Password, Repeat Password then click on SIGN UP or you can also use the other options below (see the image below). You will then receive a verification email asking you to verify; click on “click to verify your Email” to complete the verification. After you verify your Email, Click on “GET STARTED”. You will then be directed to the next page will ask what you would want to do. In this tutorial, I will choose “Learn Web Development” and click continue on the next page. The next is to name your project by creating a User name and Password. You will then have to choose how you want to create your website, I will choose “Install WordPress” and for the installation to complete. After the installation, click on “Go to configuration Page” and you will have your free account with 000webhost created. How to create a MySQL database on 000webhost Tutorials 1. Login to your cPanel and hit Manage Website 2. In the sidebar, hit Tools, then Database Manager 3. Click on New Database 4. Fill in the form Database name - choose any name you want - if you are using WordPress call it WordPress. I will use WordPress. Database username - choose any username you want - I’ll use otiyeb2. Password - best to make it secure and random add special characters. After creating your database, you’ll be able to manage, delete and change the password if you want.
