Calculating Total Magnification:
How to Calculate: Total magnification = magnification of ocular lens x magnification of objective lens
**ocular lens is the eyepiece
- You’ll see these numbers right on
the lenses of the microscope if you
forget!
Microscope Drawings
- Use pencil ONLY!
- Use dots for darker areas (no
shading or colouring)
- Draw only what you see (not what you
think you should be able to see!)
- If the cells are similar or repetitive, draw
about 4 or 5 in total
- Put underlined title at top centre of
page
- Labels to the right with a straight line
- Do not cross lines for the labels
- Write the total magnification at the
bottom
