This allows the materials to be recycled for new applications. • At RWE’s Kaskasi offshore wind power project in Germany, the first RecyclableBlades were installed in July 2021 and are now delivering green energy. Most people without electricity live in rural areas far away from the main grid. • While solutions exist for decentralized energy generation, local project developers have difficulty getting the necessary financing. • A group of Siemens Energy employees, supported by Siemens Energy Ventures, is developing a solution to connect impact investors with viable projects while showing the social and environmental impact. • As a pilot project the team realized a blockchain-based donation platform to energize a village in Senegal together with the project developer Africa GreenTec. A solar minigrid solution provides electricity for up to 2,000 people. Each financier can see the environmental impact on the platform.
