“Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?” Twilight cried, tears
falling down her cheeks as she stared at the dark void filled with white twinkles above.
“I could really use a wish right now…” Mordecai responded to no one in particular.
The separated couple missed their respective lovers, the deep loneliness clogging up any
happiness in their hearts.
“I can’t do this without you, my love! Please! Come back to me!” Twilight choked out as she
sobbed. Nobody could hear her as she was in an open field by herself, her home where she
resides not too far away.
“What does it matter? He’s gone. Up and left with his best friend and abandoned me.” She
bitterly scrunched her nose, wiping away the wet tears on her face.
What the pony didn’t know, was that miles upon miles away, Mordecai and Rigby were having a
secret gay romance with each other, Rigby, however, regretted every moment of the
relationship.
He didn’t have the right to be a side hoe for Mordecai, in fact, the only person made for Twilight
isn’t even Mordecai. It’s him. Rigby was the one who deserved to be with Twilight.
That’s right. For the past year and a half, Rigby has been missing Twilight because of his raging
crush on her.
Rigby knew that he was bisexual. But there was something else lurking under his skin, like an
itch that he couldn’t scratch.
After countless hours of researching after Mordecai had gone to bed, he knew what that itch
was, and had finally scratched it.
They were a demiboy. Going by he/they, but even though he was in a gaymance with Mordecai,
they didn’t know how the other would react and were nervous.
“Mordecai.” He spoke with confidence the next day.
“Yes?” The blue bird answered, cupping his lover’s face and leaning in.
“I uhm. I have something to tell you.” He admitted. They needed to do this, otherwise it would be
left unsaid for forever.
“I’m a demiboy. I go by he/they. If you don’t accept me, that’s fine.” Rigby kept his head down,
not wanting to look Mordecai in the eyes in fear of disgust that might be there.
“Oh, love. Is that what you’ve been worried about? Don’t worry, I love you for who you are.”
“I also have another thing to tell you..”
“Yes?”
“You know how you’re technically still dating Twilight and cheating on her with me?” Rigby
asked.
“Yup. Never cared about her anyways. Maybe in the past, yes, but not now. I love you, and you
only.”
“About that…” Rigby trailed off. “I’ve been talking to Twilight, and we’re in a relationship. I’m
moving in with her in a week.”
“WHAT?” Tears pooled in Mordecai’s eyes, betrayal struck his heart.
“Yes. It’s true.. I just don't support what you’re doing. You’re cheating on Twilight, she deserves
so much better.”
“But you’re cheating on ME in the process!” Mordecai was sobbing now, shoulders shaking as
he heaved.
“Taste of your own medicine, I guess.” Rigby replied distastefully.
Turns out, Rigby had already packed their stuff and had it waiting by the bedroom door, ready to
take off next week.
“This is where we end, Mordecai. I regretted every second of being with you.”
The two animals split off into different directions of the house, and that’s where they remained
for the rest of the week, having no interactions with each other.
Rigby had left without a trace. This was it…
