Ex.5 Legend of the Carpathians There are 32 lakes on the territory of Transcarpathia, but the most attractive and charming is Synevyr, which is the largest and deepest high-altitude lake in Ukraine. You can find the water surface among the impenetrable rocks of the protected zone of the National Nature Park of the same name. The mountain lake has another unofficial name - "Eye of the Sea", because of the calm blue waters surrounding a small island in the center of the reservoir. Lake Synevyr is rightfully considered the most valuable natural treasure and one of the hallmarks of the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is located at an altitude of 989 m above sea level. Many people come to celebrate weddings in Synevyr from different parts of the Carpathians. It is believed that if young people met and fell in love near this lake, true love awaits them. Not far from Synevyr Lake, on the Black River, you can visit the unique in Europe Museum of Forestry and Rafting. Here you can familiarize yourself with the ancient tools of lumberjacks, see various household and residential buildings, walk along the dam, admiring the wonderful views, breathing in the healing scents of fresh air. Tourist infrastructure is actively developing around the lake. Just on the banks of Synevyr, you can spend the night at a camp, taste bograch - the national Hungarian soup , listen to mountain musicians, buy souvenirs and take a picture for memory next to a stuffed bear against the background of the lake. If you are tired of sitting still, you can stretch your legs at any time by walking along the eco-trails that meet here at every step. You can go around the entire lake with them and have a pleasant time looking at the water surface from different angles. You can get to Volovets station by trains "Kyiv-Uzhhorod" or "Kyiv-Chop". Then you should take a regular bus to Mizhhirya and the village Synevyrska Polyana (distance from Volovets - 90 km) or by taxi directly to the lake. If you are heading here on your own, you don't have to worry about the car. Before the ascent leading to Lake Synevyr, there is a parking lot where you can leave your car. We assure you that your trip to Synevir will remain in your memory forever. We look forward to it!
