government has asked you to investigate,
design and create a rollercoaster that will be
safe for people of determination. The main
aspects of the rollercoaster will be for it to:

• be challenging
• include safe obstacles.

Tasks
Complete the two tasks listed above in the below section
Inclusivity is an important aspect to take into account when designing and/or creating something for the use of the public; for example, a rollercoaster.
There are many benefits to being inclusive when designing something for the general public, these include economical benefits for the person or business
responsible, the benefit of doing something good for the world and many others, the list goes on. In this project I will elaborate on the problem of the lack of
rollercoasters and other entertaining rides for people of determination. People of determination may have problems with mounting/dismounting such a ride
or have problems with the ride itself. Examples include: the seating may not support their spinal support, or for some of those with disabilities in their legs,
there is nothing to secure their legs with.
Thinking Challenge – What are your thoughts on the importance of performing correct research? What are the positive and negative impacts to not performing detailed research? Include your answers in the above section

Aiv: Design brief which Summarises your
Research
• Summarise research to justify decisions made.
Tasks
• Describe problem solved, justify both your product choice against other products
Using information from strand i, ii and iii, describe what you plan to make. Make sure you summarise your research to justify your decision. You can use your research to
describe the problem you will solve (Ai), why your product will suit your client (use Aii), why it is better than existing products (use Aiii).
Use the section below to pitch your idea. It should be based on facts from your research but should also really sell your idea! Use persuasive language to help you.
I will build a rollercoaster from plastic bottles and cardboard rolls. As a replacement for a drive tire I could use a magnet and a small electric motor, which
could help speed up the ride when the rollercoaster would lift, or in any other case when this may be neccesary. One of these contraptions could even be
used to slow down the ride. My rollercoaster will be Indiana jones themed, and will be designed to be themed like a desert.
I will solve the problem of the lack of inclusivity by creating and ergonomic design for my seats, straps to secure limbs and making sure that the ride is slow
enough for disabled people to ride. This will be suitable for people with any spinal problems (ergonomic seats), problem with limbs like arms and legs
(straps) or any other medical problems that people may have. Due to the slowness of the ride, it is also suitable for people with mental disabilities and
people of very young ages to enjoy.
This rollercoaster, would be better than existing ones, because it has a catchy theme and is designed to suit disabled people. It is inclusive and therefore
can help in many ways. Firstly, economically. Inclusive rides like this one are perfect for theme parks to earn even more as disabled people can ride and
therefore are more willing to pay. Secondly, marketing wise. Showing of a super inclusive ride like this one, can attract more clients to a themepark.
Finnaly, inclusivity itself. Being inclusive in the modern world is a significant aspect of any community. Creating an inclusive ride gives benefits to everyone,
both the people who can enjoy it and the people who make money from it.
