Paige Trunzo May 22, 2017 What I learned from D.A.R.E. D.A.R.E helped me learn about many important and different situations that I may have to face growing up. It taught me how to handle difficult situations that may come up in my future. D.A.R.E. taught me about the effects of alcohol use and tobacco use. For example, alcohol can affect teens more than adults because teens' bodies are still growing. Also, alcohol can make you have memory loss, poor judgement or loss of self-control. An example of how tobacco use can affect your body is that it can cause heart disease, yellow teeth, and even different cancers. I know that I can use the strategies that I learned in D.A.R.E. in my future. D.A.R.E. taught me to make good choices. If I know of a place where people may be using drugs, I will avoid that place and hang around nonusers instead. I know that I will have to be responsible with my school work and get that done before playing video games or other "fun" activities. I know that I will never use tobacco products. I hope to never bully anyone, and I will try to be friendly as much as I can. It is very important to be drug-free. Drugs can cause many problems. It is illegal to use drugs. Drugs can make you uncoordinated and slow your reflexes, among other things. It is just better not to start anything that is harmful to you and then become addicted to it. Just stay drug-free, and you will be fine. I have enjoyed learning about what situations may come up in my future. D.A.R.E. taught me what problems may happen and how I can solve those problems. I am sure that with this knowledge, and with advice from my parents and teachers, I will make the best decisions in my life.
