Persuasive Essay = Opinion Writing A persuasive essay is a type of opinion writing. Your opinion is what you think, feel, or believe about something. Reasons for Persuasive Writing Believe me!! Persuade someone to believe what you believe! Do something! Persuade someone to take action or do something!! Change your mind!!!! Persuade someone to change their mind about something that is important to you. How? You could write a letter to someone! You can make an advertisement! Commercial - Poster You can write an article! Your friends Your family Your classmates Your teachers TOPIC: What is wrong with the education system? 1. Focus on only one thing in the education system that you think is wrong/problematic. 2. Offer two ways to resolve the problem that you identified. Each body paragraph should focus on one way to resolve the problem. 3. Have one introduction, two body, and one conclusion paragraph. 4. The thesis statement must be explicit in the introduction paragraph and rephrased in the conclusion paragraph. Name your topic! PLAN Reasons Think about the counter-argument!
