Renaissance Explorer Diary Directions: Select an explorer from the Renaissance era and conduct research to answer each of the following prompts in first person as you write a diary about their voyage. Each entry should be no more than 50 words in length with a total for the entire diary of 250 words. Entry 1: How did you finance your voyage? The government of King Francis I of France commissioned my expedition. Entry 2: What was the goal of your voyage? I am looking for a northwest passage way to Asia in search of gold and spices. Entry 3: What obstacles did you encounter? I lost many a man during vicious Indian attacks. Harsh winters also prohibited the potential of further explorations. Entry 4: Did you achieve your original goal? Why or why not? My mission was not a direct success I achieved many other things and set the stage for other explorers in the 16 th and 17th centuries. Entry 5: What will be the legacy of this voyage? It was successful in other ways that intended but it was not a waste.
