Description of the experiment
The participants of the experiment were 40
men aged 20 to 50 years, among them 15
people (both qualified and unskilled), 16
merchants and businessmen, 9 specialists of
various professions.
The experiment involved 3 people – one
subject and two actors.he subject was
informed that he was participating in a
memorization experiment, and that his role
would be to shock a stranger whenever he
incorrectly answered a question.At the
beginning of the experiment, the subject was
given a rapid electric discharge.As the
experiment began, the administrator asked
the invisible accomplice a series of
memorization tasks that required an answer.
When he gave the wrong answer, the
administrator instructed the subject to click
the next switch in the sequence, providing an
increasingly high voltage.
