The ideal design of a lightbar will depend on the application.
In some cases a thin streamlined design is important. in other
cases the need to incorporate siren / PA speakers is important,
maybe facilities are needed to display additional information
or perhaps cost is a high priority.
To accommodate these varying requirements, Haztec offers
many different lightbar ranges incorporating various light
technologies from inexpensive Halogen rotators to high output
strobes or the latest high output, long life low maintenance
LED lightbar technology. Latest generation LEDs when correctly
mounted and powered as part of a Haztec LED lightbar, offer a
life of 50 - 60,000 hours. They can operate over a wide range
of temperatures and are simple to control, allowing multiple
flash patterns to be easily incorporated and synchronised if
required. LED technology also offers silent operation with no
moving parts to wear out.
All lightbars are available in blue amber and red, with other
colours available on request.
Xpert SLE (see page 7)
Magnetic or permanent mount Compact low profile LED lightbar with an overall
height of just 57mm. Can be supplied with integral siren & speaker. Many
different lighting configurations available including clear or coloured lenses. Can
be configured with front only or rear only lighting.
XP Minibar (see page 8)
Compact minibar available with halogen, strobe or LED technology. Versions
for magnetic or permanent mounting, choice of lens colours and options for
integral alley lights etc. Can accommodate integral siren if required.
Xpress Lightbars (see page 9)
Highly versatile, able to accept numerous options including information sign
displays and speakers. Available with LED strobe or rotator technology.
Xtra (see page 10)
Raised profile lightbar for use as either a single level lightbar with raised base
to prevent obscuration or a dual level bar. Can incorporate infosign displays and
speakers.
Xtreme (see page 11)
Dual level lightbars, for when extreme visibility is needed. This allows numerous
combinations including rotating beacons with lower level strobes, scene lights
or stop, tail turn lights. Can incorporate info sign displays and speakers.
Xcess-P lightbars (see page 12)
Ultra thin Xcess lightbars provide a thin streamlined solution using LED
technology. Truly impressive 360 degree illumination.
Xpert (see page 13)
Similar to Xpert SL but with a greater height so suitable for a wider range of
components such as 360 degree beacon modules as well as dual height rows of
LED modules and speakers.
Xpert DX (see page 14)
Raised height version of Xpert designed to accommodate strobe or rotating
halogen beacons, can also accommodate speakers if required.

Mirrors
Mounted in the ends of lightbars
allowing areas to the side of the vehicle
to be illuminated, they are available
in either halogen or LED form. LED
versions have a much lower power
consumption than halogen and a
working life of around 50,000 hours many times longer than halogen.
LED dot matrix displays that provide
fixed or scrolling messages / pictograms to warn and inform other traffic.
Messages are pre-programmed and selected from a library of messages using
a controller mounted in the vehicle.
Duplicates the stop, tail and turn lighting of the vehicle. Can be especially
valuable on vehicles where the rear
lighting could be obscured.
Mounted on the front and or rear of
the lightbar, they provide white light
to illuminate a work scene. Can be
programmed to also flash as part of the
warning light sequence.
Can often enhance the warning capability by providing advanced notification
of the type of hazard about to be
encountered. Centre signs can also be
used to promote corporate branding.
Can be illuminated with either low
cost tungsten or low maintenance LED
lighting.
Strobe & halogen lightsources generate
white light. A coloured lens is then used
to produce the desired warning colour.
Lens inserts allow a dual colour output
to be generated.
With Modern LED technology, the LED’s
generate the required coloured light,
allowing clear lenses to be used and
avoiding the need for lens inserts
Mounted on the front and or rear of
the lightbar, they provide white light to
illuminate a work scene. They typically
incorporate an optical design that directs
the light downwards.
Many lightbars can accommodate the
siren speaker. These can be supplied
with speaker grilles, manufactured from
polycarbonate or stainless steel. A range
of speakers is available to suit different
applications.
When beacons or other wide angle light
sources are used, mirrors can dramatically enhance the output of the lightbar
by re-directing otherwise wasted light.
They can also emphasise the light in a
particular direction.

lightbar WARNING options - 360O Modules
The 3 lightbar illumination technologies are halogen, strobe and
LED. Some lightbars are only compatible with LED technology
others are compatible with multiple technologies, the final
choice being to suit user preferences. Halogen and strobe
are older technologies offering lowest cost but at the expense
of heavy current drain and limited component life. If LED
technology is preferred, there is a is a wide choice of fitted

Overview
Xpert SLE is a compact LED lightbar with a very wide range
of configuration options. it can be supplied with either 2 or
4 corner modules giving either front / rear or full 360 degree
coverage. In addition 1 or 2 LED inner modules can be added
to both the front and rear of the bar if required. If a single
LED inner module is added, this can be split to provide “half
and half” flashing operation allowing symmetrical side to side
flashing.
Alternatively 2 x 360 degree LED modules can be fitted.
Powerful various options of LED takedown lights can be fitted
to the front of the bar, these can be set for flashing mode
for extra visibility or can be set to steady operation for scene
illumination. Choice of different flash controllers enabling
functions such as front / rear switching to be included if
required. Despite its small size Xpert SLE can also be fitted with
an integral siren and speaker along with 4 x LED corner modules
providing an all inclusive solution with 360 degree visibility,
siren and speaker, this is ideal magnetic mount operation.
Materials
The lens and base is moulded in strong UV stabilised
polycarbonate. Clear lens as standard, coloured lens on request.
Mounting
Can be ordered as a permanent mount version or as a magnetic
mount version. The magnetic mount version is supplied with
heavy duty rubber paintwork protectors to cover the magnets.
An optional quick release safety strap is also available for added
security.

Overview
XP is a compact minibar which can be configured with various
choices of light source from inexpensive halogen, to latest
generation LED. XP can be supplied with clear or coloured lenses
and can also be configured as an illuminated sign.
Materials
Base and lens is moulded in strong UV stabilised polycarbonate.

Overview
Xpress is extremely versatile and can be configured in many
different ways. Speakers can easily be incorporated for PA and
siren functions. The speaker can be housed behind a dedicated
speaker grille, or an illuminated centre sign can be fitted that
incorporates a speaker mesh. Alternatively the centre section
can be used to accommodate the Infosign LED message display
system. Other options such as LED or Halogen alley / scene lights
or external sidelight / headlamp units. can be added if required
along with clear or coloured lens inserts .
Xpress can also accommodate LED arrowbar direction systems or
stop / tail / turn lights.

The base is manufactured from anodised extruded aluminium,

Overview
The Xtra lightbar features a substantially raised base. This is
designed to help avoid obscuration of the lightbar output when
mounted on a high vehicle and viewed from a low level. In
addition, the raised base also provides a facility for the mounting
of additional lighting equipment beneath the main lens area
without diminishing or obstructing the primary warning lights.
As well as warning lights, the upper level of Xtra can also
accommodate the Infosign programmable sign system.
Solid internal dividers are used with lightbars incorporating
signs to avoid light intrusion. When lightbars have a full lens
configuration, clear dividers are used to maximise the effect of
mirrors whilst providing excellent rigidity and security.

Overview
Xtreme is a dual layer lightbar to satisfy the most demanding
lightbar requirements. The upper tier is designed to accommodate strobe or halogen primary lights, whilst the lower level
accommodates Halogen, LED or strobe lights.
Lower level modules operate without diminishing or obstructing the primary warning lights. Blank lenses can be fitted
instead of lighting modules if required in some or all positions.
Lower level options include large flood, spot or wide beam
alley lights.
In addition to warning lights the upper level of Xtra lightbars
can also accommodate the infosign programmable sign system.
Xtreme Lightbars can be supplied complete lightbars or as shell
only, for fitting with equipment by others.

Overview
Xcess-P sets the standard for LED lightbars. The slimline design
minimises the impact on vehicle aerodynamics, but not at the
expense of visibility, latest LED technology offers outstanding
brightness with low current consumption. Cleverly designed
corner modules provide true 360o visibility with 12 high power
LEDs in each module.
In addition to the corner modules, each Lightbar contains a
number of directional modules to the front and rear, these
modules which can have either clear or coloured lenses can
incorporate LED directional warning lights or scene / takedown
lights
In addition to any front / rear units, LED alley lights can be
incorporated at the side of the lightbar. Many different module
combinations can be provided, and this coupled with highly
advanced programming capabilities offering functions such as
day night light levels, cruise mode and multiple programmable
flash patterns, enables Xcess-P to be configured to meet exact
requirements.
LED modules are designed specifically for use with Xcess-P and
can be supplied as single or dual colour types. Where dual colour
LED modules are used, many different switching patterns can be
achieved including blue warning patterns with additional amber
arrowbar functionality.
Selectable options include separate switching of front / rear
corner and inner LED modules, as well as cruise mode on corner
or inner modules, plus arrow / warning functions on inner
modules.
Xcess-P can be interfaced directly with the Haztec Eurosmart
controllers, or alternatively a breakout unit is available to allow
user supplied switches to be used to control required functions.

Overview
The new Xpert Lightbar range offers excellent quality with
extreme versatility at a competitive price. With an overall height
of just 79mm, Xpert offers an optimum combination of slim
aerodynamic design coupled with a large light emitting area to
maximise safety. It is ideally suited to the latest long life, low
maintenance LED modules, It is also available with linear strobe
light sources. Xpert has been designed to be accommodate
either single or dual height rows of Haztec 10406 / 10403 &
10408 LED modules. It is also designed to accept XD, XD1 &
XD2 latest generation LED modules as well as 9-3541 360o LED
modules (see pages 4 - 6)
Xpert incorporates a strong, rigid extruded aluminium base along
with a sleek curved end design and is available in an extensive
choice of lengths, with custom lengths also available to order.
A wide selection of lens, lens clamp and centre piece colours and
sizes, is available (see below.)

Overview
Xpert SL is just 57 mm high, and is purpose designed to neatly
accommodate the latest Haztec LED technology, providing a
high output, high visibility LED lightbar with a very streamlined
profile.
Xpert SL is available with many different lighting options
including the XE high output corner and inner modules as
well as low profile 360 degree beacon modules Lenses can be
supplied in either clear or coloured material, Centre sections
can have transparent lenses and contain additional inner
lighting modules or can be opaque with or without illuminated
signs (to suit customer preference).
Latest generation flash controllers support sophisticated
flash pattern requirements they also offer functions such as
cruise mode, dimming mode to reduce output under low light
conditions and arrowbar modes.

lightbar mounting kits
Lightbar mounting kits perform the vital task of securing the
lightbar to the vehicle body.
Xpert, Xpert DX, Xpert SL, Xtreme, Xtra, and Xpress lightbars have
a continuous channel in the underside of the extruded
base. The mounting bolts are free to slide along the length of this
channel whilst being securely retained in the lightbar extrusion
allowing them to be moved to align with the fixing holes.
Haztec offers a wide range of lightbar mount kits allowing
different fixing possibilities to suit particular applications.

A simple permanent mount kit consisting of 4 x 20mmH heavy
duty rubber spacing adaptors that mount between the vehicle
and the bar. Kit is supplied with mounting bolts that fix through
the centre of the spacing adaptor.
Stainless steel hook on mounting kit - avoids the need to drill
mounting holes in the vehicle.
Consists of a Z bracket that fixes to the lightbar and two separate
clamps to fix against the door aperture. clamps and Z brackets
are held together by a bolt and locknut (supplied) Z bracket
supports the lightbar weight against the roof, whilst the clamps
secure the lightbar in position.

Permanent mount high rise stainless steel mounting kit. Raises
lightbar profile by 130mm to help prevent obscuration.
Fixes vehicle via 2 bolts, kit includes protective rubber strip to
prevent direct contact with vehicle finish.

Heavy duty solid moulded rubber mounting kit consisting of 2
x 41mmH rubber mounts and 4 mounting bolts. Mounting bolt
heads are inserted into the lightbar base extrusion and bolted to
the vehicle. slotted holes in mounts assist with simple alignment
with fixing holes.
Permanent mount heavy duty stainless steel mounting kit. Raises
lightbar profile by 65mm to help prevent obscuration.
Fixes to vehicles via 2 bolts on each bracket, kit includes substantial protective rubber spacer to prevent direct bracket contact
with vehicle finish and to stop lightbar from sliding under wind
pressure

permanent mount roof rail fixing kit. consists of 4 metal brackets each supplied with 2 heavy duty coachbolts and locknuts.
Designed to secure the lightbar to roof rails (roof rail fixings not
included) Coachbolt head inserts into lightbar extrusion base
and slides along full length for ease of fixing.

95-XHK
permanent mounting kit designed specifically for use with and
Xcess-P lightbars. Attaches to underside of lightbar extrusion
via simple but secure coachbolt fixings. Mounting feet have
adjustable angle to suit different vehicles.
9-000-SOK levelling kit
Kit of 4 brackets designed to clamp onto a variety of modern
profile roof rails. Rail mounting bolts slide into lightbar extrusion
and when tightened secure the clamp against the rail.

Low profile mount kit for and Xcess-P.
attaches to underside of lightbar with secure bolt fixing to
vehicle roof.
9-286LK levelling kit
Levelling assembly to work in conjunction with various Haztec
lightbar mount kits allowing the lightbar to be angled to
compensate for sloping vehicle roofs. Allows a mounting angle
adjustment of up to 12 degrees up or down. Supplied as a kit
of 2 brackets with all necessary fixing bolts, shown below with

The 9-0008 & 9-0012 weatherproof right angled connectors are
ideally suited for use on vehicles to provide a simple means of
powering equipment that may need to be removed.
The connector consists of a low profile right angled fixed socket
- ideal for mounting on a vehicle and a male plug designed to be
fitted to a wiring loom.
2 versions are available, an 8 pin and an 12 pin. All pins in both
versions are rated at 10A / 12V or 24V DC with a maximum
cable size of 1.5mm.
A locking mechanism is included to ensure both parts remain
securely joined when in operation but can be easily separated
without the need for any tools when required.
Normally both parts of the connector are supplied pre-fitted, to
the wiring loom, it is therefore necessary to specify the required
wire length between the lightbar and the loose part of the

As an alternative, special versions of the 8 Pin type can be
supplied as separate loose items. This version allows the
installer to cut the loom at the desired point and then fit the
connector. These special versions utilise push lock terminations
allowing the user to fit the connector without needing any
specialist tools.
A gasket is provided to help seal between the right angled
socket and the vehicle.
Because of the 1.5mm cable / 10A max limit per pin, In some
cases it will be necessary to supply a special loom with multiple
negative wires and this should be considered when calculating
the required number of pins. Please discuss with technical sales
if required.
