RESPONSE BY MANAGEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE,SAWLA-TUNA-KALBA DISTRICT TO THE DRAFT
MANAGEMENT LETTER ON THE AUDIT 0F MODERNIZING AGRICULTURE IN
GHANA PROJECT FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 2020 TO DECEMBER 2021
OBSERVATION: PAYMENTS WITHOUT ALTERNATIVE QUOTATIONS

RESPONSE: The management of the department of agriculture, Sawla-tuna-Kalba district has
taken note of the observation and the recommendation outlined in the draft management letter.
The above observation was initially made in the Regional Auditor’s management letter to the
management of the Department of Agriculture during the audit. He recommended management
“to ensure that competitive procurements are undertaken henceforth”, which the Department
accepted. Management, henceforth, shall ensure competitive procurements are undertaken by
providing the relevant alternative quotations for subsequent procurements.
Attached are the relevant extracts from the Regional Auditor’s management letter and that of the
draft management letter of the Deputy Auditor-General related to Department, labeled appendix
A and B respectively for your reference.
